Leave AA for Fedex?

Interesting question for all. Let's hypothetically say there is this dude. And he turns forty in July. And let's say he gets hired at a major in 4-6 years. Where would he maybe land seniority wise with a 20-25 year career? And could this totally hypothetical dude ever be a Captain?

I'm 43 and currently in the hunt to work at a major, and I know a whole bunch of other guys in a similar boat. I think you'll fit in just fine.

Given the projected hiring and retirements, a guy who has a 25-year career will have an ample opportunity to be a Captain, maybe even for a majority of that career span.

Delta's junior captain was awarded training a couple months ago at just under a year on property; FedEx's junior captain awardee from about 3 weeks ago has been on property for about 10 months.
