What is the oldest career changer?

What are your times like? I'm CMEL, Instrument adding CSEL shortly. I'm contemplating CFI, CFII but still not sure about teaching.

Before you other guys pounce, I've seen many youngsters age during the CFI course in our program. I've also seen a few busts and these kids work hard. So I'm apprehensive.

I was hired with 900tt and 108me.

After being there for 8 months I've got 1400tt, 500me, and I've been upgraded to the 99. So, now I'm logging turbine time. My experience has been mostly positive with them.

I had enough time after finishing my ratings that I was able to get hired. My preference was to build time in 135 or 91 instead of teaching. It's a personal choice.

Good luck to you.

Who's the oldest career changer?

Yourself in 10 years!

Don't let age stop you as in the future you will look back and see yourself now as young. The only real limitation is the age 65 rule and that just rules out 121 gigs. Knowing what you want and what sacrifices are worth that is what matters.
