MEI add-on cost.

Hi,

I'm looking to add my MEI so I can join the FAA..does anyone have any ball park figures? I meet all the prerequisites as far as time goes.

Also, could anyone recommend a course?

I’m not associated with these guys in any way, except I did my CMEL and CFI/I with them years ago.

2-3 day course, $2595, and they have some deals with the local hotels and used to provide transportation to/from the airport.

It really depends on your level of proficiency. If you're ME current and proficient and you fly regularly from the right seat, I could sign you off in one flight. If you've forgotten how to fly a twin and/or don't fly right seat much, it could take 8-15 hrs. Most people are somewhere in between.

Quoted for truth. It's the easiest check ride I have ever taken, but I was proficient in ME tasks and just had to move over to the right seat and do it.
