7110.65 P/C Glossary
NEGATIVE CONTACT- Used by pilots to inform ATC that:
a. Previously issued traffic is not in sight. It may be followed by the pilot's request for the controller to provide assistance in avoiding the traffic.
b. They were unable to contact ATC on a particular frequency.





The one thing that gets me is when I clear an a/c for takeoff or exepedite departure, cleared for takeoff - and then issue traffic on final as the reason... the pilot says "ok expediting.. looking for the traffic on final." what!? haha

I hate it worse when they say it, but are in a 172 G1000.
