RIP AMF OAK

Within 30 minutes drive time you can rent hotels by the hour, or buy 30 million dollar homes, with everything in between. HWD is a craphole, but there are nice surrounding areas.

During my time there, most of us "passing-through" sought refuge in Alameda. I actually really enjoyed Alameda. Castro Valley was fine too.

-Alameda - slept on a living room floor as there were four strangers in a two bedroom apartment. ($250/month)
-Lived in my car.
-Castro Valley, had my own room, lived with a couple in their two bedroom apartment. ($700/month)
-Lived in my car again. Showered at 24 hour fitness.

But for 1,000/month you can have some semblance of normalcy. Hope you don't have any bills.

Cross your fingers for Portland.
