Four presumed dead in California Marine helicopter crash

SAN DIEGO — A Marine helicopter has crashed during a Southern California training mission and authorities believe all four crew members were killed.
The military says the CH-53E Super Stallion went down shortly after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday near El Centro.
The helicopter was with the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing out of the Miramar air station near San Diego.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Authorities aren’t releasing the names of the victims or their home towns.
 
The USAF lost a F-16 today too. Nevada Test Range. Pilots condition unknown.
 
This is the 3rd crash for the Marines in 24 hours. They had a Harrier and another CH-53 crash yesterday in Africa.
 
Same day this happened a Marine Harrier went off the runway in Djibouti (pilot ejected) and a CH-53 crashed in Djibouti as well, all crew ok.
 
ROKAF F-15K(E) crashed today while RTB to Tageu AB, slamming into a mountain in heavy fog. Pilot KIA, WSO MIA.

Although it was a tangential conversation in this thread, did anyone hear a suspected cause for the Thunderbirds training accident? I guess since it occurred on base details are hard to come by, but was curious.
