Our manager said they offered 14 people thus far jobs at KNEW. All in different parts of the hiring/transfer process. he exspect our hours to go from 8-6 to 8-10. just some info....

It's not a hiring freeze.. It is a freeze in training. They are not scheduling people for training. I checked around and this isn't something they are telling facilities. The school house has people on the way for many of these facilities...its just going to take some prioritizing by the ATO of who needs people first.

Oh, man. I just got off the phone... apparently the FAA is opening up a new announcement next week, but you can only apply if you have legal residence in India*. Apparently they're going to outsource ATC work at some of the smaller towers, save some money. Man... maybe it'd be worth a movie over there, get a job, see some Bollywood...

Actually... noticed this the other day. When you head out to your interview, you may want to go ahead and erase or buy out your iTunes collection beforehand. Or, you know, just not tell them about it. Whatev.

Cliff's Notes, if you don't get off on reading judicial stuff like I do: the guy was denied a security clearance due in part to him having a few hundred dollars worth of pirated software. Rough.
