And a classified clearance to boot. That's a couple of steps higher than what any ATCer has to hold.
 
Just got this from my Rep "There are some terminal facilities that have met their quotas, but enroute is not affected"

Don't get too caught up in the details, I meant it more as a joke than anything. They're not going to ask to dig through your computer to bust you for that Kanye West CD you downloaded.

No worries, I figured as much..It just made me chuckle a bit because it happened to two of my friends with DOD security clearances. They didn't get them revoked, but they were told that they needed to go home and clear the stuff off their comps after the interview.

Since my medical clearance just came in and I have a waiver for my background clearance, I figured I would call BR today to ask when I could expect an academy date and FOL. She said my facility, PWK, is currently under the hiring hold by the ATO and until that is lifted, I will have to wait for a class date. Hope it doesn't take too long for a Pubnat2'er.
 
So that means that they aren't going to lift the freeze all at once, right? If you're still frozen, but LAX was recently unfrozen, then they must be unfreezing facility by facility. Wonderful...

Hiring holds are a short answer for "I don't know and I don't want to go find out right now."

Call your facility directly and ask to speak with the Air Traffic Manager. They can confirm if it is true, or tell you differently if necessary.
 
I've finally been cleared with medical and security as well with a TOL to MIA Tower, but now on a "facility hold". Anyone else here been selected for MIA Tower?
 
I have been selected for PBI - palm beach tower and I just got fully cleared last week. So I called for a class date and I am told by my hr rep that my facility is on hold and not to expect something until fiscal year 2010. I spoke with the Air traffic manager at the facility and he said he needs 4-5 trainees. This is very aggravating. I guess we will see what happens. Good luck to all!

Me and two others on here are in your boat as well. OKC says freeze, facility says "GIVE ME TRAINEES!!"

What gives?
 
my buddy just got back from the ny pepc and yesterday they told him he was starting class next week. he is going to amarillo. guess they have the opposite of a hold
 
I've tried the search button but apparently I'm not very good with it. What's the best way to get in contact with my tower manager? E-mail or phone? And does anybody know how I would go about getting that information?

It's hard to gauge because there could already be 40 new hires with FOL's and class dates... they just havn't reported to OKC or the facility yet.
