Offical PUBNAT 8 is OUT

I read up on what letter factory is like so I knew what to expect but I never actually used the disk with the green book cuz I couldn't get it to work. I still scored WQ, I would say don't concern yourself too much with it. You get plenty of practice ahead of time.

oh my oh my........ Shane!!! RRRR :chair:

You have to download the upgrade for the green book!!!!!!! It helps with the letter factory!!! At least GO OVER IT, KNOW THE CONCEPT and READ READ READ the info on Pubnut 7 for more advice!!! When it comes to the actual test, the most important thing is TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!!

Also, practice ATC senarios:
http://www.jeremyjustice.com/games/

And do a lot of Math problems!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s. I know I'm a "study freak"...OK?!?
Too bad, there is not smiley with a flower. I would have given it to you, Shane!!! I was just kidding, Genius!!!;)

Guys, I understand that this is REALLY what you wanna do but, it's an APTITUDE TEST. Some people will have it, others won't. It's designed to determine if your brain thinks the way they (the man) think it should in order to be a controller. Thats just the name of the game. If you're born with it, great. If you aren't, why would you really wanna put yourself through all the crap to try and rewire your brain? Find something else that you're good at and enjoy and do that!

I would like to be a shrimpin' boat captain if I can't pass the 1st class medical anymore. I wanna be exactly like Forrest Gump. Simple, no hassle, sometimes catch a toilet seat (which is handy 'cause those things are ALWAYS breaking when I'm around) sometimes catch a buttload of shrimp, but always on the water, and too stupid to be unhappy.

Relax, play tetris, hit pause and have your buddy ask you what was on the screen without you looking at it. Thats the letter factory.

Hey, I applied for PUBNAT 4 and obviously didn't get picked up for the referral list. I took the AT-SAT last September 08' and got a WQ. Does anyone know if I get skipped over to retake the AT-SAT for PUBNAT 8? I'ms assuming from others posts that your score lasts up to 3 years and that I just ride along the waiting train with everyone else until Geo Pref e-mails are sent out?! Thanks

That is correct. You won't get to retake it, so they'll just use your previous score.

Well........you could retake it...if you want to. The only reason I could see to do so is if you scored below 85 the 1st time. Otherwise.....leave your WQ score alone. Contrary to popular belief.....they only look at WQ vs Q....not the actual score.

Some of you show Geo Prefs listed in your signature. Did you get a separate email? I chose mine in the app.

You can choose them on the app...but they send a geo prefs e-mail later in the proccess...after the at-sat. pubnat 8 has a long way to go till they get there. Pubnat 7 just got our geo prefs and that was December 0f '08. The people that show that in their signature have applied to earlier OTS openings.

I've been hearing rumors that some people are being contacted by phone by one of the companies that does the AT-SAT testing. The rumor is that the test might be taken at the end of August. Anyone else heard anything like this?

Where have you been hearing these rumors?- I believe it takes 4-8 weeks as noted on a sticky the timelines to test.

I don't know how accurate the info is, but two separate posters at stuckmic said they received phone calls about the test. Both were told to expect an email soon and that the test will most likely be at the end of August. I am familiar with the timelines, and thats why I'm trying to find out if there is any truth to this. I'm expecting the long wait, but taking the test at the end of August would be a pleasant surprise if it holds true.

Well 4-8 week time frame would definatly fall into the time frame from the end fo the PubNat, and i was talking to someone i work with at the airport who's headed to DC center and he and i figured that they will try to get pubnat 8 situated before the new fiscal year so they can get everyone into the larger classes by then

Larger classes it is. There were 19 in this basics class, all together. When they moved from basics to labs, they split them 12 and 8, and added 4 CTI/Military people to the group of 8, for two groups of 12. They told them the classes used to be double in size, and that it was going back to that soon. That was a few months ago...

It appears that the first people to take the AT-SAT will be those that signed up to take it in Houston. August 24th, the test will be administered in Houston. I'd imagine the rest of us will start getting emails soon. This is an email that someone posted at stuckmic:

Good to see that things are moving fast for pubnat 8....could it become a pubnat 7/8 together process?

cmsuav8r....I see that you are a OTS for pubnat 8 are you also VRA/CTI or something that would test before the rest of pubnat 8?

Hang in there...it'll happen. I was PUBNAT1. Took from February 2008 to September 2008 to get to OKC. Been at my facility (S56) since early December 2008. It's slow going, but well worth the wait!
