Another Cirrus SR22. Was raining pretty bad last night but not that bad:

calm winds, light rain, relatively high ceilings, and a panel full of glass. what was his deal? The wx wasnt even technically ifr. You could get in there SVFR no prob.
 
I'm surprised Cirrus is still in operation.

I'd imagine all the horrible PR would have stopped sales.

That is what is being reported. Probably using the longer of the 14's.

Didn't mention it so I would imagine not. Although there was mention of an explosion after it was burning....

Better question was he flying in icing conditions?

Nope pretty warm yesterday.

He was in their target demographic....Why would it stop sales though? All those guys that crashed were bad pilots. It'll never happen to me... :sarcasm:

Nah...it isn't even training because Cirrus does a very good job of that. It comes down to stupidity and DM which obviously a lot of the aviation community does not have whether that be in a Cirrus, Mooney, Beechcraft, or Cessna. Use your head people.
 
Honestly, I think Cirrus builds TOO GOOD of an airplane for these pilots. They end up doing things that they would not otherwise do in a bonanza etc, because of the Perspective avionics, the non certified TKS. There is almost the impression that (for a VFR pilot) that you can just look inside at the pretty picture and fly that way in very marginal weather conditions.

Don't forget the salesmen, trying to convince them the pretty avionics and BS TKS will get them "out of trouble".

I'll give you my opinion of Cirrus too, then again I just be :deadhorse:.
