which is the same thing he’d be hired as at AA and SWA.but this is an assistant dispatch position

It's really not. You get hired with the expectation that you will pass training and upgrade to dispatcher asap. The assistant position is really "dispatcher in training"but this is an assistant dispatch position
Not great.I work at AA in MOC, my son applied to Delta, fresh from out of Dispatch school and has his BS degree. how are his odds at Delta?
It is yes but the alternative is also very long as well. the amount of applicants with the experience some of them have externally trying to get in. I always hope everyone gets what they want but pickings seem slim right now for job vacancies vs applicants.I heard going the internal route is sort of a long journey
You are also right, all about perspective lolIt is yes but the alternative is also very long as well. the amount of applicants with the experience some of them have externally trying to get in. Non-existent without at least four years experience. The Majors can afford to be extremely picky now that the COVID hiring rush is all but over. Have him keep applying though.I work at AA in MOC, my son applied to Delta, fresh from out of Dispatch school and has his BS degree. how are his odds at Delta?
Assistant Flight Superintendent...is a dispatcher in training at Delta...and then you upgrade to Flight Superintendentbut this is an assistant dispatch position
lol Delta would call dispatchers flight superintendents. Are suspenders part of the required dress code?
The test used to have a 50% fail rate, or higher.Yikes. I don’t envy anyone in HR. I get that their assessment would help dwindle those numbers a bit but it can’t be by a whole lot.
They score the resumes, then send invites for in-person interviews. A slow process for sure.Hey everyone, I have a question about the hiring process as a dispatcher with Delta. If an applicant passes the online assessment, what are the next steps? Does it usually lead to an online interview? And if that goes well, are candidates then invited to ATL for an in-person test and interview? Appreciate any insights—thanks in advance!
Good luck to your son! Did they get an assessment?I work at AA in MOC, my son applied to Delta, fresh from out of Dispatch school and has his BS degree. how are his odds at Delta?
I took my assessment over weekend. I hope I did well, and continue. This job would really mean a lot to me. I worked at a regional about 5 years then had to relocate to Georgia. I’d be nice working close to home. The test used to have a 50% fail rate, or higher.
The new test is easier and the majority pass.
not yet, I heard they have a very lot of applications to go through.Good luck to your son! Did they get an assessment?
I'm applying straight out of dispatch school and I received an assessment. To the people that have already received assessments, are you external or internal?

For the assessments, are we referring to the AON assessment or something else?Does anyone know when they’re going to be finished (or are normally finished) with sending out the assessments and rejections? I haven’t heard anything back but have been hearing of others getting a response.
Yeah the initial assessment that got sent out after the poll closed. For the assessments, are we referring to the AON assessment or something else?
