DL hiring again

I may be wrong but have heard that if you have applied to DL before and already passed their AON assessment (even if you were not ultimately selected for the class, and if it was longer than 6 months ago) you do not need to re-take the assessment. They would simply notify you at some point if they are moving your resume along for further review or eventually send a TBNT. Again this may not be accurate, just what I have heard from a couple of colleagues.
Interesting as I took it and passed last time it was open in Sept of '23. Have not received anything yet. We will see, as I have a bit more experience than some others I have heard get the assessment. Remember that it is a small world and lift up your colleagues! Good things come to those that are patient.

Heard the intent for this class was going to be mostly internals and perhaps a few externals. Dispatch is still a very highly sought after position internally so there is strong advocacy to keep as much of it in house for the deserving employee. For a January start date, it’s difficult to interview, offer and onboard externals for a Jan start date. We will however see how it works out. All the best to everyone.

Do I need to dress up for this like an interview? Or can I wear casual clothes? Talking about the AON of course

External class, mostly. One reason for that is they can reduce desk training time for experienced candidates.

Of course it is, just like the other previous class in 23 they solicited applications for and sent assessments for only to later decide that the class would be all internal anyway.

Yep :( unfortunately friends from Delta said the same.

Hey everyone, I have a question about the hiring process as a dispatcher with Delta. If an applicant passes the online assessment, what are the next steps? Does it usually lead to an online interview? And if that goes well, are candidates then invited to ATL for an in-person test and interview? Appreciate any insights—thanks in advance!

I work at AA in MOC, my son applied to Delta, fresh from out of Dispatch school and has his BS degree. how are his odds at Delta?

It will be very very difficult and unlikely. There is a glut of dispatchers with years of experience at regionals that are clamoring for a position at the majors. Additionally, Delta tends to pick from inside. I'd recommend he look at getting a few years of experience at a regional and then applying to a major. Or go the internal route and find a position in the NOC/SOC of a major and getting in from there.
