Trans States?

So first year pay goes up to $35.81 an hour.

Edit: On closer inspection, that cat is clearly surrounded by senior-Captain amounts of dollaz. My apologies.

Doing the math, if they are still offering the bonus making 50k first year seems to be a pretty easy task.

I think most of that is done... For now.

Would like to see more regionals increase pilot pay, and those who play hard ball going belly under or get bought out so the regional industry consolidates.

Majors can take back flying if the FFD cost for a regional is to high. That will happen when regionals begin to consolidate or disappear.

Forgive me if this has been elaborated upon already, but I am in a position where I can get on with a charter company and make $50k as an FO, but in actuality would like to fly 121 if it weren't for the fact that I would be making less than what I make now first year.... So, to my understanding, the $10000 bonus has been done away with, and in its stead first year pay has been raised to $35 per hour, which gives a new-hire the chance of making around $45k during his/her first year at TSA? It sounds good if so, too good to be true.

First year is 35 an hour and second is 38. I doubt you'll make 45k, but we do have open trips that are worth 200 percent.

Hi guys. Still working away and moving ever forward, and still interested in TSA as my first choice. Down to under 100 to go to hit 1500, and still hoping to apply and do interviews around the end of the year. I'm pretty much done with shooting (my photography business) for the season and working some impossibly long days to finish editing so I can dive in 100% to study and prep and finish up flying. While flying today, after asking my instructor no less than three times "Whut?" when I couldn't hear worth a darn...I decided I HAVE to move past my old school David Clarks and get something better. I've been cheap way too long. Question is, what do you all wear, or what is allowed? I've tried the power of the Googles but haven't come up with a definitive list. I know Lightspeeds are a no go, but Bose are ok? DC ANRs? I need to shop NOW because today was ridiculous. I just don't want to waste money on something I can't use down the road.

"Ugh" to shops that prohibit the use of non-TSO headsets for no other reason than "someone thought this should go into the FOM and so we put it in the FOM."

Having worn both the Lightspeed and the Bose products, I'm here to tell you that I prefer the Lightspeed over the Bose all day and twice on Sundays, and that the Zulu is certainly the superior product in terms of construction, customer support and repairs.

QC-15>Bose Aviation or Lightspeed...

I've flown with both Lightspeed Zulu 2s and Bose and would agree, I like the Lightspeeds better. I just didn't know if those were ok? From my research I gathered no.

If you fly the EMB-145, you could have your cochlear nerve surgically disconnected and the plane would still be too loud.

Stick with the David Clarks or a Telex 750 with ear plugs in, I never found anything that worked better in the WSCOD. The Telex 750 with ear plugs is nice since the altitude alerter chime that comes over the headsets is set at around 110 db.

Totally unrelated to TSA...

I flew a plane yesterday that, for the first half of the day, had an altitude alerter (and our's is a chime and "ALTITUDE") that was about 200% louder than any other plane in the fleet. Then, midway through the day it just stopped all together, although it took us about 2 more legs to realize it was gone.

Just be glad she didn't blow a slide at an outstation when she decided to quit for the day.

What... what?

Story time? In *very* general terms?

Haha, no story but I was reminded of the jetBlue flight attendant who grabbed two beers and blew the side and walked off the job. Somehow my mind pulled that up when thinking of your altitude alert voice calling it quits.

But she seems so happy and content...

You're gonna have to ask a TSA pilot to glance in his/her FOM and see if TSO'd headsets are required.

(or rather, since you have, you should wait for a TSA pilot to glance in his/her FOM and answer appropriately.)

Yep, I gathered as much. Shot an email to an acquaintance there as well. I wouldn't even worry about this if I wasn't kinda sorta shopping right now for GA flying purposes.
