Trans States?

Quick question of you TSA folks as I continue to whack away at my remaining flying as quickly as I can - where are you at, as far as you know, on hiring with respect to the total anticipated growth? Trying to move as fast as I possibly can but was wanting an idea. The info posted on another website was last updated in April and listed 500 pilots at that time with a goal of 1200. Thanks in advance!

Our classes are still pretty small. We are doing alright in terms of coverage for all the bases. We still have 20 or so planes that are still on their way.

The training pay is what's monumental, 75/hrs a month at 35/hr is more then most regionals 2nd year pay

Does the company put per diem during training as well?
I honestly don't know from the new TA, mainly because I couldn't vote on it.

But before it was 60/month at first year FO pay...even the cqfo's...which is why it wasn't as successful as planned.

also my last day was yesterday so I and can rant on how "good" the company is, feel free to PM me...(I'll even leave out my opinions of PSA)

Haha no need, I was just wondering.

Where did you go?

From the beginning I knew the cqfo program would be a bust. They lowered the upgrade time from 3500 to 2500 hours. Which allowed a lot of guys like me to upgrade once we got the 1,000 sic. I flew with a cqfo the other day he been here since January and he only had 40 hours of pic. Felt bad for him since I bet he was told he was going to get a lot of pic time.

yeah that was pretty much the biggest dickpunch from management...after we were told several time from them that "no we can't lower mins due to insurance reasons"

I was a lucky one where I flew 250 Hrs left seat and only 20 right...but I was in the first class back in December

(ironically, my last flight was as an FO...it was my first right seat flight in 3 months...TSA got me!)

Many guys hired as CQFO's this spring are still today flying 50/50 in both seats, and at 49/hr, right seat isn't all that bad. Some CQFO's choose to bid FO lines instead of reserve lines, in which case you'll never get assigned CA flying while holding an FO line.

that was because reserve rules are some of the worst in the industry...they just couldn't take the punishment from scheduling anymore...btw...most CQFO's aren't frutstrated that they are sitting right seat, just sick of how the operation is run.

side note: of the 70ish CQFo's that were hired initially ...they're are only about 30 left, most have moved on

And for you prospective new hires. The TA was signed in today. So first year pay goes up to $35.81 an hour.
