Social Media and the job hunt.

My buddy who's in training sat at the table at the new hire dinner with two of people that run the recruiting page and they say some of the stuff that people write is just embarrassing.

A self correcting problem, as it should be.

Also, uh, don't let the pilot wives friend the major airline recruiting pages.

Or you'll end up without a wife anymore...... :)

I've got to say dpr showed class here. Snapping a pic of somebody's binder and rubbing their nose in it on the internet isn't cool. Also they practiced what they preach. Own your mistake.
I don't know if it's part of the rules of the road, but a common rule in management is counseling private, praise in public.

PantyDroppr6969@aol.com is not an effective self-marketing tool in the professional realm!

I guess it depends what profession you're talking...

Me?
You can build a fairly robust profile of the 'real' applicant in short order and it's often not flattering.

Which is why I just posted the above. Hahaha.

No seriously. Everybody knows who I am and I'm one of those who never says never, but it's highly unlikely I'll ever go for an airline job. (Or a job in politics for that matter!)

If any recruiters see the above and don't laugh, I've alleviated my own worries about the company culture before I start!

Kidding. Not kidding. ;)

(I've worked for some really uptight places. I know how to behave, but let's not pretend any of those jobs were a match made in heaven.)

I couldn't do a job where I had to run a modern web comment system. I'd either be laughing or crying all day.

Before OR after hire. ;)

And let's be PC here for a moment, even though I'm not all that concerned about it. Pilot spouses.

Pilot's families put up with a lot of crap, and often their willingness to "help" defend their SO does tend toward stuff that'll make one giggle a bit. Online is bad. Dinner parties after they've gotten into the libations? Awesomesauce.

Unfortunately for some, the damage is done I'm sure.

I see it as a cleverly disguised ploy to bring out the trolls. Now that they've been exposed, let the DB cleansing begin!

There's a lemony fresh, bleachy smell coming from the app stacks!

I, for one, look forward to working with those who actually want to work here, and not just some asshat's "Plan B" move.
