Ready Set Takeoff. Great resource to for the JKT at Delta and FedEx. The original FB group was pretty selective, someone needed to vouch for you that you did have an interview scheduled. Now there is an RST page for just about every airline and it's just all gossip and "do this to get a job"...I've wondered for a while...what exactly does RST stand for?
My first round with Southern Jets I followed the ECIC A + B = job formula. Didn't go so well for me. Second round I threw away everything ECIC taught me and realized you literally just have to be yourself...much better outcome. The problem with the "do this to get a job" approach is that it's often incorrect and makes a lot of great applicants stumble.
Yup, but you can not hire it!Wow... just saw that post and read all the comments. I guess it's true..."you can't fix stupid"
Good way to weed out the geniuses. If you need guidance on how not to do this, you shouldn't be at an airline or you're not ready to be at an airline.I can't "foot stomp" this enough, but you really don't want to 'troll' an airline on Facebook or Twitter if you're an applicant.
When you shoot yourself in the foot, the gunshot is silent, the projectile enters your foot painlessly and you will never know why the call never came.
I'm kind of shocked I have to inform professional adults about this.
PantyDroppr6969@aol.com is not an effective self-marketing tool in the professional realm!I had a guy who I flew with(I can attest to his cockpit skills) ask me for a recommendation. No problem I thought. He has applications out to the Big 3 and all other majors. Told me he had no luck even getting a call. I asked him to send me his info and I would try and help him. I look at his email address and it's "chickmagnet_99@something.com". I called him and asked if this is the email address he used on his apps? "Yes, is it a problem. I've had that for like umpteen years." 40 something old man.
I guess it depends what profession you're talking...PantyDroppr6969@aol.com is not an effective self-marketing tool in the professional realm!

Shaggy??All I gotta say is… "Wasn't me!"

Then why do you bother to inform adults about this? Honest question.
Because if someone lacks the basic common sense to realize the above, to where you have to remind them or inform them of it, is that really the kind of moron you want at your shop?
As cptchia said, let the herd naturally thin itself. Holding people by the hand step by step for basic stuff they should already know or being unable to follow clearly stated instructions, is wasting both your and the company's time, other than any entertainment value. Save the help for the in-depth stuff, rather than wasting it trying to protect people from crap they should already know in life. If guys want to clear themselves VFR direct to the circular file, so be it, cleared as filed.
The pilot shortage hasn't come to desperation levels for you guys there yet, has it?
Aw jeez Rochester MN...I've wondered for a while...what exactly does RST stand for?
