At a certain airline there is now going to be free chat via facebook, iMessage, or whatsapp. No sign ups, no gogo logins. So, um, do pilots get in on this action?

Can I ask in a candid moment, are you guys saying you've never seen one of your fellow pilots be on gogo inflight internet? Not saying on company websites, just in general?
i would wear this around the house or gym on the off chance i'm there.Of course, there's at least one technical pilot with this shirt, so
pretty sure thats the rule everywhereYou might want to remind said individual at Delta that it is strictly worded that one CANNOT be logged in to Gogo while in the cockpit, with the exception of authorized channel, which limits what can log in. This goes for jumpseaters as well, although less enforced. The PED policy is very restrictive.
I'd tell said pilot to get off the interwebs if they knew what was good for them. Usually asking them how they are going to explain to their family how they got fired because they couldn't follow rules does it.
If it interferes with checklists or flying, there is one conversation. Second time, I call skeds and have them removed from the trip.

No one is idiotic enough to admit that, if applicable, on the internet.
Sorry for the delay in replying, Minneapolis Center wasn't taking my check-in.
Well no one is saying do any of that stuff during checklists or during flight duties. We're talking level cruise. I guess I don't see how reading a USA today physically is much more different than USA today on your iphone/pad with wifi. And reading paper non-pertinent company material (aka USA today) is just as banned as using gogo internet for non-approved sites. Also, ya mean to tell me you've never seen a guy "research" his commute options home and loads during cruise?
In a virtual airline world, I know virtual airline pilots who split Gogo accounts 2, 3, 4, or 5 ways with other virtual pilots. And they don't use it just for their virtual commutes. Full disclaimer that I'm speaking about the virtual world, not real world airlines or pilots.
He wears it to turbulence conferences.i would wear this around the house or gym on the off chance i'm there.
An interview for law school?
Only school that wanted to talk to me during the 2009 application cycle was Howard, and that was because I was on the wait list and they had too many applicants.
Everyone else just gave a thumbs up or thumbs down based on LSAT/GPA.
Aw jeez.Sorry for the delay in replying, Minneapolis Center wasn't taking my check-in.
Casual compliance sucks, doesn't it?I'm still rather astonished that we have to have this conversation in 2017. I mean, really?
Maybe its that whole "normalization of deviance" thing...
This was 2007-ish. The interview is a big, big deal for MD, DO, DVM, Pharma, etc. Not so much Law. That doesn't mean you shouldn't try.
One man's normalization of deviance is another man's progress.I'm still rather astonished that we have to have this conversation in 2017. I mean, really?

lots of assumptions can be made about that comment. Could go either wayOne man's normalization of deviance is another man's progress.
