Skywest Questions

You can count 25 hours, so can show up with 1475 and 25 multi and be good to go.

25 out of 50 for the Multi Engine Class Hours, yes.

But 100 out of 1500 for the Total Time. Per 61.159(a)(6):

Not more than 100 hours of the total aeronautical experience requirements of paragraph (a) of this section or§61.160 may be obtained in a full flight simulator or flight training device provided the device represents an airplane and the aeronautical experience was accomplished as part of an approved training course in parts 121, 135, 141, or 142 of this chapter.

I've got 50 hours of sim time 141 from my instrument and multi training. I can use that for total time...max 100 hours? These were FTDs

Thanks. How many hours in the sim should I expect during class? (I will also need to take the CTP course)

.

I did 53 hours on the sim, 175 that is. Make sure you know how many of those you can use (max 25 towards your 50 ME and I think 75 max for IFR)

Yeah no idea about the rest.
My statement is true, and what I did.

I'd just ask when the recruiter calls. They'll tell you exactly what you need.

if you look at the above post it does count if it was part of a 141 school. Which means I can count some more hours as well, yippy!

Sweet, guess I'll have to go through and cancel out the sim multi time but the rest was 141 IR ...might shave off a few weeks...lol....

I was under the impression it had to be a level D sim. I have some FTD and ATD time from a 141 school, but I'm pretty sure that counts in no capacity towards ATP mins.

Pretty sure 61.159(a)(6) allows it . Not for multi engine hours however but for TT. Which makes sense because they allow it for commercial.

If the reg you posted above is quoted, then it sounds like you're correct...full motion or FTD

How many people really count sim time in the TT column though? I have at least 90 hrs of full motion Lvl D, but I was told not to add that in as it looks poor to have Sim time added at TT.

So...no idea when you guys are opening Detroit? Gotta be soon right? Anyone? Would be great to meet some of our West coast brothers and sisters. We have lounge space and I'm sure we will share. The merging of East Coast and West Coast. Let's make it happen. At least in Detroit.

The people that will have a higher class date.... Judge all you want but who will care at vacation request time? It's all about getting in and getting your number.

I think 25 hours of multi looks more poor than using sim time for total time. If there is a way to get a faster number and class date, I'll take it.

The training guys at SLC literally told the cadets today that if you can change your lifestyle or somehow change something to get here a month earlier, they highly suggest it because it's all about seniority.

Didn't mean to pee in your Cheerios man! It was meant as a legitimate question, not an insult.

Sorry I worded that poorly.
It wasn't supposed to be taken that way I was just giving you a different way at looking into why it could help. lol :)

My bad.

There are no news about that in the company. It is just a rumor still. LAX erj base will start in May and they announced it last October, pretty far in advance even considering LAX is already a CRJ base. So if DTW is to be opened there will be some announcement for sure

You don't count it as total time, you use it to qualify for the rating.

So here's a question, I've got multi sim 141 time...can that be used just for the overall time? That won't be counted as using multi sim time will it?
