Skywest Questions

Up to 100 hrs if it's a level c or d and part of an approved training program.

25 out of 50 hrs multi can be from the SIM

Thanks. How many hours in the sim should I expect during class? (I will also need to take the CTP course)

If I am understanding things correctly it seems that with my current hours (1460) I have enough to show up for training assuming I get at least 40 hours in the sim.

I have no knowledge on the subject of how many hours skywest's training comprises of ? At least 25 but I imagine not one more hour than you need beyond that, cause sims are a thousand an hour to run.

Not sure if the CTP counts, it may not .

Anyone know if I can count sim time from class towards the 1500 hr min? I'm sitting at 1460 hrs and wondering if I need to grind out those last few hours or if thats enough to show up for class and get the last few in the sim.
Website says specifically 25 actual...they're going to give you the other 25 in the sim. Pretty much the norm for every regional I hear so you'll have to get it before regardless.

Ok that makes sense. So, it sounds like 1475 is the absolute min then. In all likely hood I'll have the 1500 by the time I would have class but just want to be clear in case I do in fact hit a roadblock on hours and end up short. Guess I should get that application in soon and hope for an interview and class invite.

Thanks for the info!

I was in the same boat as you, interviewed short about 60 hours and got a class date. I guess it depends on availability as far as the ability to move your class date, but I just kept them in the loop if I thought I was going to come up short and they were very understanding.

That's good to hear. Was the expectation that you show up with the full 1500 or were they ok with 1475?

No, 1475+the sim time to equal 1500 before the checkride.
I thought you did the ATP-CTP course before your class date? Is that correct?

If so, can you guarantee your ATP course to give you 25 hours? That's good to know for my planning purposes...never thought about being 25 short before class date.

No, I took my written about a year before prior to all that business becoming effective.

No man, the last 25 hours comes from Skywest's Initial training, not the CTP . You get 6-10 hours during the CTP I believe and I'm not sure if you can count it towards total time or not.

I have 20 hours in a level D PC-12 sim at Flight Safety and I'm trying to figure out if that counts toward 1500?

You won't get 40 in the sim. They'll issue you a Restricted ATP. The Restriction will come off at you next 6 mos recurrent. You can count any Level D sim time that you may have towards TT.

If you're only short the total time then it's not a restricted ATP, but only a certain amount of sim time counts.

You can count 25 hours, so can show up with 1475 and 25 multi and be good to go.
