PSA New Hire Questions

Did anyone have any trouble submitting their app via the website? I tried submitting my app and it kicked it back but would not give me a reason. Then I refreshed the page and all my data fields went blank. Frustrating.

I know they have been updating all the website stuff over the last few months. It could have possibly just been a glitch at the time of submission. Not sure though. I know its a pain in the ass, but I would just try it again and see. Hope it works for ya.

Rumor of 30 new CRJ900's to be announced soon along with a new base opening. They would be delivered starting in 2016. I know they have options for up to 40 more 900's in addition to the 900's already being delivered along with the 700's from Envoy and its also said that of all the AAG regionals, PSA is the one not having a hard time filling classes (currently interviewing for late March / early April class dates). As far as new bases, rumor mill keeps saying ORD but I've also heard LGA thrown around quite a bit so who knows. This would certainly keep the upgrade times to a minimum for the foreseeable future. Anyway, just rumors at this point. Who knows what is actually going to happen. And even if they announce new airframes and flying, its still hard to believe them until the aircraft are on property. You know how this business is. I start class in less than a week (Jan 5th class) and if anyone else in the Jan 5th class wants, feel free to PM me.

Looks like PSA just announced they will be opening an ORD base.

So what can we expect from PSA in 2015? To start, the process of transferring the CR7’s is set to commence at the end of the second quarter. Accompanied by further network expansion, like moving into ORD, and important changes to our PSS in the fall, one thing is certain: 2014 has successfully set PSA on a path of growth and expansion that is set to continue throughout the upcoming year.

I'm missing something. What's CAK? Canton-Akron airport does not make sense to me here.

PSA had a base there for years and still has an MX hanger. For many years, because of the overnight MX work being done, there were many aircraft terminating there and many crews stuck in a very low end (lack of) Quality Inn every night. The base was closed in 2004 (maybe?) the same day PIT was closed as a base for PSA. For years guys would constantly ask the President of the Company if CAK (or PIT) would reopen because between the two there was a pretty large group of commuters that either drove 3 to 5 hours to Dayton or flew down to CLT to start trips. Keith (the CEO) always said no and we always suspected that even if it ever did make sense to reopen the base (like when we were overnighting more than 10% of the fleet there), he'd never do it because he'd have had to admit he might have been wrong in closing the base to begin with.

I figure we'll see new crew bases open up where the MX bases are/will go. I doubt we'll see an ORD crew base because there's not a lot of cheap hangar space available, but like I said I've been wrong before.

I wish an airline would open up a a JAX domicile. Hasn't been one here since PDT pulled out.

I feel bad for any crew that had to overnight in that crap hole lol. Fortunately there is a lot nicer hotel to use now like a stones throw from the airport. There has always been some nicer options of hotels a short 5 min drive from the airport, but true to regional form, you can't be too nice to regional crews it seems lol

You know it's actually possible. The guy who would never repoen CAK because he would have had to admit he was wrong when he closed it is retired now.

That said, I doubt it.

Are you a PSA guy? I'm a new hire and live in NEOH and make the drive down to DAY, I've heard recently that pilots and F/As would even vulunteer their time to be base admin/orgainze the Jepps etc. For only working here for 4 months its amazing how far management will go out of their way to cut off their nose to spite their face.

They had us in the dirty Ramada across from the cemetery on Everhard last week, I opted to call my friends up, hang out and slept on their couch instead.
