PSA New Hire Questions

So they are neither sharp nor doing well?
I wouldn't say that... Perhaps they just study differently. My worry would be that since I know only a couple have approached us about getting some of the training material we have, that many of them may be studying a wide swathe of information, as opposed to the "focused informaion" many in my class have. Half the battle is knowing how to disseminate what is a need to know thing and what they are just telling you for informational purposes.

I gotcha, I just thought it was funny the way you wrote it.

Just some food for thought, but a large chunk of pilots do read these forums or at least know about them. I wouldn't be talking about classmates or other classes on here, really.

I haven't said anything negative. So carry on. And I'm as helpful as I can be to whomever I meet.

Announced this morning that PSA is taking 24 of the 40 outstanding CRJ900 options that American still had. That's another 250-300 pilots.

This isn't possible, because the upgrade train has already departed the station according to the internet!

I think a lot of that is pilots at other airlines realizing that their upgrade and movement is dependant upon new hires coming through the door. And right now, PSA is a vacuum that is sucking up a lot of the eligible new hires out there (for obvious reasons). They are saying what they can to try and convince prospective new hires otherwise. Numbers don't lie. Between continuous aircraft deliveries through 2017, upgrades, attrition, and hiring at the majors picking up dramatically in the next couple years, PSA will remain an attractive regional to work for. And by the summer, PSA should have an ATP program in place and that will attract more new hires.
