PSA New Hire Questions

A cut above. Do yourself a favor. (Best shirt I have ever worn, only shirt I buy). I get my pants from Kohls, or Macys. I bought the blazer/rain coat option because I didn't like the leather jacket. Don't spend a lot of your allowance. It takes a bite out of your check. Other than that, welcome.

You need to buy ties and epaulettes for sure and the belt is pretty cheap. I went with the leather jacket only because with the uniform changing in a few months, it is probably going to be ok to wear the same leather jacket with the new uniform. I didn't want to waste the money on the blazer and not be able to wear it more than 6 months.

There is a new leather jacket. Have you seen the CA wearing it? He comes through CLT a bit. Think he is Dayton based. I saw him in the crew room a week back. I think the old jackets wont be acceptable since they look completely different. Not to say you couldn't get away with it, but it does look significantly different.

I've seen it, and it looks ridiculous. There is no way that thing will be what everyone changes to (in my opinion). I don't think anyone will really fight the new uniforms (50 shades of gray), but I can not see people actually wearing that leather jacket.

What are the two letters in front of the badge number to give to the gate agent for jumpseating?

Does anyone know the myIDtravel or ID90 logins to list for jumpseats on AA, Jetblue etc?

The 2 letters are your airline code (who you work for).

If you work for PSA and want to list as a non-rev for AA or US, log on to NRTP or travel.usiarways.com

Just making sure it wasn't something crazy. At XJT ERJ side it was not EV like the two letter operating code and there were two different ones to use depending on which airline. I literally got left once because I didn't know the one that worked with Delta.

Edit; I already listed for AA on NRTP, but it's kinda tight, so I wanted to list for the jumpseat as well.

I went with the Blazer because by the time I hit the line in May or June a leather jacket will be suicide. Plus I figured I would wait on my allowance after 1st year to pick one up. I bought only a couple pair of pants and a couple shirts... I've worn different shirts and pants from different uniform companies and never really liked the way they fit. I'll probably end up buying more white shirts from jos a bank and having my tailor sew on the epaulette holder things. Same with the pants, I'll probably end up buying ones that look like our uniform ones and just have them tailored.

I can honestly say that I have never heard of people making their own pilot shirts from dress shirts. Wouldn't it be easier to just guy tailored pilot shirts?

The leather jacket can not be worn sometime after March per the FOM. I wear it and like it, but didn't buy a blazer because of the uniform change. I just got a plain black sweater at Target or somewhere like that and wear that.

Chris i'm not that fancy. I do though iron my clothes and shine my shoes. That's about as far as I get.

If you jumpseat don't give them the JS. The airline code is US for when they look you up in CASS

Good lord I wish I would of known this 2 days ago... I got denied a jumpseat on company metal coming out of CLT. It wasn't a big deal but it was a little frustrating.

Was it Psa metal?? You don't to be in CASS to ride Psa planes. Just a badge

Correct, but the ticket agents/gate agents might not know that. If they were to try to look you up in CASS, they would not find you if you were not listed yet. That is why I asked. There are a lot of guesses about when people get listed in CASS, and there is no definitive answer that I know of.

I talked to a "gate agent manager" or whatever they are called and he told me that he knows we are supposed to be able to ride the jumpseat on company metal and he's talked to several CAs, management types, etc about it... But he was adamant that policy in CLT was that if your not in CASS, you don't get the jumpseat. Company metal or not.
