PSA New Hire Questions

I have a March 30th class date. Does anyone have tips on what they did to prepare for ground? Just have the memory items down and wait for class to start or was there something you wished you would of looked over prior. I have only been part 91 prior? Thanks for any advice.

Part 91 jet or the van only (assumption based on profile pic)
? As always play nice with the others, just do what they tell you, start learning the memory items and limitations during indoc where you'll have a solid week of complete and utter boredom in DFO (dayton freakin ohio). The program is evolving all the time so I have no idea what it will look like now, they might be on using the 700/900 for initial now = easier flows.

If you feel comfortable with jepp charts and general IFR stuff, I would just concentrate on the memory items and limitations that they sent you. Know the memory items verbatim, and spend some time memorizing the icing definitions and when each is turned on. You will be required to write the icing definitions on the limitations test (which is given on day 5 or 6 of indoc).

That, and enjoy indoc and systems. It can be fun if you have a good class and a good attitude. My class was a lot of fun, we all did well and had a good time.

I'll be arriving in Dayton on Sunday night. Driving. It will be cool to meet some of the JC folks in the coming weeks.

Be Carful driving in, 5-10in of snow in Dayton by Sunday night. Where are you driving in from?

Alabama. But I have a lot of snow experience in the past. I plan to leave tomorrow to get most of the drive done before the snow gets bad.

Make sure that @chrisreedrules shares some of the "care package" that I left for him in Dayton. ;)

You know its funny... My whole class has been full of some really sharp guys. We all study together and help each other and for the most part, we're all doing well. The class behind us is the exact opposite. They haven't asked us for any help and we never see any of them studying. Strange.

@Ckelly35 Send me a PM with your email and I'll send you some stuff. I have no idea whether or not you will be training on the 200 or the 700 for initial, but I can get you stuff that will help either way.

Maybe I don't want any of this care package stuff then. O.o

At least the forecast for the rest of the drive got better. 40 degrees and raining instead of snow as forecast earlier.

So they are neither sharp nor doing well?
