ALPA PAC is the political wing, to which I do not contribute.

Interesting that you don't contribute to the PAC, I.E. your career. As @Inverted said the PAC was instrumental in protecting your job from single pilot ops and age 67, in the FAA Reauthorization bill. I’ve frankly not been happy with the candidates they seem to endorse. I have no problem paying ALPA dues as a regular member (those are not used for political purposes) but when it comes to PAC, I’m not aligned with their political endorsements.
