Oh JetBlue XII - pins gone wild

We have procedure (after procedure) to ensure we don't take off with the pitot covers still on, because way too frequently the rampers forget to remove them (and we have no way of knowing).

Is having them installed a bus thing? I don't know if I've ever seen them on the 73.

You’re saying you wouldn’t speak up because you fear being mistreated from a snack/beverage issue?

As a passenger, I wouldn’t speak up because I wouldn’t care. It’s a problem that others can identify and solve. Lots of people suck. I want my snack and beverage in a timely manner more than I want to take an unpaid HR position at an airline.

I find photographing a stranger while they anre working and then sharing with the Daily Mail more offensive than someone’s pin. But that’s me.

That is creepy as hell when people do that, the author knows damned well if we rolled up to them at their primary job at Dollar General and took a “secret squirrel” of them, they’d be writing a very different Pay Per Click article.

Wear anything your employer allows and that you’re willing to get called on the carpet about if they don’t.

In the words of Joeyswoll on IG: “You need to do better. Mind your own business”

As a passenger, I’m not going to start a conversation about pins. I can be both offended and silent. To be offended, I have to care about the views of strangers on a plane, which I don’t.

I had another captain raise a stink about a Russia pin on one of the FAs

Then I showed him the crew list, that she was a Russian “language of destination” flight attendant and that it was part of her responsibilities to display that in case people needed help in Russian or Russian-adjacent languages.

He had all the tools to make that determination but chose to “emote” first.

That is how simpletons who lead with outrage always react, and it is so predictable.

Yeah, if I’m a paying pax and see a FA with a Nazi pin, I’m gonna speak up.

Who are you going to speak to? What if it’s the lead FA that’s wearing the pin? Are you going to demand to speak to the captain?

Demanding a response to your liking at thirty-thousand feet seems like a bad idea. I’d wait until I land to voice displeasure.

Every month, I fire off a few letters of compliments and a rare complaint. Letters get responses. I don’t need immediate gratification.

You’d have to be a special case to try to equate BLM with ALPA.

I didn't equate anything.

But I will say again, if you think ALPA isn't a political organization, you are lying to yourself. You wear an ALPA pin and lanyard, right? You probably see ALPA pins everywhere and don't give it a second thought, yet you see a BLM pin and lose your mind. This is because you accept one, and not the other, when BLM is no more or less a political organization is than ALPA. Hell, ALPA is absolutely, without a doubt, a political organization. One I happen to support and agree with. ALPA was instrumental in the latest FAA Reauthorization Bill, and the PAC was a way for us to give money to support their efforts. The PAC and ALPA are not two different things.

Yes you did, and you continue to equate the two.

The morel equivalent to it would be an AFA pin, which I have zero problems with.

BLM is a social and political group that blames white cops for black deaths, while completely ignoring the causes behind it other than white cop = bad.
