Re: Indoc starts in less than a week...

Ya I think so. I am pretty FNG but we put bids in last week. Things move so quick here it seems that people don't stay on a run very long. It looks like I am on the same run for the next 2 weeks which is a first for me.

Re: Indoc starts in less than a week...

Some things don't change. I was the #2 chieftain guy in a short time there. Loved the AM res.

Re: Indoc starts in less than a week...

I had a week of Am reserve 2 days after my checkride haha. Which actually sucked cause I really want the hours but still. Pretty cool.

Welp, I'm setting off for Burbank and indoc today. Let's see if this brain of mine still works.

Re: Indoc starts in less than a week...

So what's another junior base after OAK and PDX?

PHX has jo's too. Seems to be where people are goin. Majority of people are OAK and PDX though. OAK seems to be taking the majority. My class took 4 to OAK, 2 to PDX, 2 to BUR though.

Re: Indoc starts in less than a week...

First day went well. Friendly people. Fun atmosphere. Not bad for no pay.

Re: Indoc starts in less than a week...

How's the ratmada treating you? That place right there is a right of passage in and of itself.

Last I had heard the company was going to put everyone in the Holiday Inn (Or maybe it was the Holiday Inn express) which is just around the corner from the "Ratmada" unless the the Holiday Inn was full. Then again, that's what was supposed to happen but I don't really know for sure.

Met your guys DoT in Omaha, a couple weeks ago. Seems like a good dude to work with.

Say what!? Things just wouldn't be the same without seeing hookers and transvesdites wondering around. Or hearing people making a porno flick in the room next to yours! :)

lol, we stayed at that hotel for 2 months. It's not that bad.

I think a lot of the people talking about it stayed in it before the renovations. We had the luxury of updated rooms.

T.C. said it best last time we were there (post renovations), "lipstick on a pig". haha

Re: Indoc starts in less than a week...

They asked us if we were in renovated rooms, the rooms are renovated to 1970's fashion. So if you are in the 1930's room without a fridge, it is not updated. But that fresh 1970's decor just really makes you feel on top.

They installed bed bugs too which makes for a unique experience. The Holiday inn Express would be a great change.

From what I understand, the Holiday Inn is supposed to be pretty standard for transition training pilots. I bet Indoc'ers will be in the Ramada for a while.

The Ramada and HI were apparently full, so we've been put up in a little gem of a "hotel" on Olive. There's technically a "breakfast" served in the "lobby", but I say it gives the Ramada a real challenge as far as being sketchy.

On the plus side, the rooms are pretty nice (given the hotel as a whole). Though our sink light broke and the family who lives here and apparently runs the place swears they can't get it fixed until next week. Shaving in the dark FTL.

All in all, not bad. Could be WAY worse.
