How long does reconsideration for a medical take?

I applied for written reconsideration and it’s been about two months. My plan is to be on celexa and get off disqualifying meds although I take celexa now too. How long does this process take? Does longer mean likely more succesful?

So I’m not an authority and I know nothing about the particulars of your case so take this with a massive grain of salt.

when I applied for my SI the first time it got rejected then approved a year later. Both times it took the feds about 2.5 - 3 months to return a verdict.

I was on a very mild antispasmodic for stomach irritation back in 2005 that my AME didn't even recognize as a problem. Feds yanked my medical certificate. Went off the meds and did the dance of sending the FAA paperwork and all of that. They wanted me off it six months with a follow-up from my physician showing I was fine without it. So all told, that was a 7-8 month ordeal. Granted, that was many years ago and I'm sure the FAA has improved since then. Not really, that was a joke.

This is why I fly BasicMed today. I don't even want to bother with the Fed.

I know someone who has been going back and fourth for 3 years now.

Definitely a case by case basis
