Finally got a drive in last week during a break in training. Fall is fleeting here, big winds kicked up the other day and most of the aspens have already lost their leaves. Good thing I got a quickie in.

@bike21 , Nick...that train shot is epic! Stig's and I were hoping to see the Boeing 737 train the other day

Thanks! I barely caught it as it was cruising by those were the pushers heading up toward the Moffat Tunnel. Would love to see 737's cruising on a train one day.

@SurferLucas

I have been looking at some of the recent photos that you posted on the regular daily pic thread and then these. This pic from the daily and these two above look like paintings. they remind me of the artists from the Hudson River Valley like Thomas Cole, George Inness and Albert Bierstadt. They have a similar style, feeling, and scope.

I know I have said this before, but seriously, you could make a living as a photographer. You have such a good eye and know/understand light, depth and perspective so well. You can have all the great equipment in the word, but if you cannot use that equipment and all of it's capabilities and you have no artistic sense, and no creative ability, you will never be able to generate photos such as these. They are seriously breath taking and beautiful. Ethereal, touching, alluring, peaceful, hopeful and graceful. It's a pleasure to be able to get to view them.

When I first saw your waterfall pic that you were kind enough to send me, I thought of this.

First of all, THANK YOU @A Life Aloft ...Maybe I don't see it like y'all do, but I still feel like my stuff is pretty average. I'm just glad that my love for exploring is bring some joy to y'all on here...that's what matters to me.

Went out to Rockwood Farms in North Bend, WA for the ultimate in cliche Northwest, Autumnal photos...we're about to have a major windstorm here, so this will prob be the last weekend for leaves in the trees.

“I was drinking in the surroundings: air so crisp you could snap it with your fingers and greens in every lush shade imaginable offset by autumnal flashes of red and yellow.”
