Any rumors of PUBNAT 8?

You can never curve it enough to make everyone happy and qualified...

Word. I know I'm preaching to the choir, but I'm absolutely mind-blown that it was ever curved in the first place. If there's ONE job out there which should never be reweighted due to the complaints of any particular ethnic/religious/gender/non-ATC-related group...

But what do I know, I spend all my time on forums.

Talking to friends who are controllers, they say that the ones who are pilots and actually have a slight understanding of what the aircraft are doing from the pilots perspective make better controllers

Pssh. I've got all sorts of hours to my name and Imma line up 747's behind 172's just for fun. Open Skies Agreement THIS.

so whats next? Referral list then PEPC? Or go to PEPC and make referral list?

There are no more PEPC's...

1) Next is the Referral list which comes out 2-4 weeks before Selection Panels meet (check ASAP for details)
2) Selection Panels meet(rumor says they are meeting the week of Oct 18th)
3) If you're selected, an email invite is sent 2-4 weeks after Panels requesting you to interview at the nearest FAA facility to your home address
4) TOL is emailed to you shortly after the interview (in most cases)
5) You take the "traditional route" and schedule all appointments (physical, medical, MMPI2, fingerprinting, etc.)
6) You wait for all clearances and then wait for your facility to hire in order to receive an FOL and classdate

So I just checked my ASAP site and I noticed this:

Referral list FA-AAC-11-36152: Issued on 10/06/2010 for the Throughout The Nation duty location at the FG-1 grade/payband.Your application is among those being reviewed by the office with announcement # AAC-AMH-09-PUBNAT8-12162. You may or may not be contacted for an interview. Please continue to check back for status updates.

Yay! Hope this is a sign of good things to come. yes, I realize it says they may NOT contact me for a interview, but still. after almost year since I took the ATSAT I'm glad to see SOMETHING lol.

just checked asap and i got that also. they must have just updated it because i checked there 3 hrs ago. one step closer :rawk:

got this info the other day from the second in command in the zny training department....

he was tellin me (cause he has someone he knows that he wants to apply) that he spoke to HR in okc and they told him they are probably gonna have another pubnat in january.

Yep, referral list has ben generated for PUBNAT8 and supposedly the panel will meet on the 18th. I'll keep my fingers cross for all y'all.....and myself.

God I hope this happens...hope hope hope.

The VaporNAT returns. You all owe bip a cold one if you apply and get a job off of it, he said January first.

So if I don't see anything on the ASAP site I'm basically out now. Right?

Not necessarily, the messages never show up all at once. Until your message says something like "sorry, but we have selected another candidate," you still have a chance. Hang in there!

So I have the message that my PUBNAT8 application is being reviewed, however I also have a CTI application in, and that has no message.

Now I'd think that if the FAA is holding a hiring panel, they'd look at both PUBNAT people and CTI people. Does anyone know if this is the case? Not seeing a message on my CTI application just has me wondering.

Its been a long time since I was really invested in this arena, and I need a refresher. How long is your AT-SAT score good for?

If I'm not mistaken it's good for 3 years, but you can take it once a year. I could be wrong though.
