Skywest Questions

Did I see you today?

(Slight air of Scumbag entitlement, for me, as well.)

If you did I didn't notice you hiding in the bushes stalking me. (Does MSP even have indoor shrubbery?) Only time I spent in the MSP airport today was a brief spell sitting on the crew lounge couch sipping Starbucks then and hour standing next to a wall plug in the E gates waiting for a delayed UA Express flight to ORD desperately trying to keep my phone from death in fear of missing Crew Support's call.

Well, your day was certainly more...interesting than mine.

Also, so much for the shrubbery.

I wouldn't use interesting to describe any portion of my day. Well, maybe some of the other riders on the Blue Line fit that description, but I try to avoid making eye contact on the train and momma taught me it was impolite to stare.

I've got IOE coming up here in a couple of weeks. Any tips or advice you can lend me for my very first trip? It's going to be in the CRJ-700 out of Phx.

Right on man! Just know the flows and do your best, the first few legs you will feel overwhelmed, but don't worry that is normal. The LCA will know this is your first rodeo in the 121 environment, so he/she will help you out and make sure you don't mess anything up too bad. I had my IOE out of ORD, so I just went through all of the jeps for SID's STAR's, Approaches and Taxi Diagram to make sure I would have some sort of situational awareness in the terminal environment. To be honest, I was still like...wait, what?? for the first few legs in and out of there lol. By the 3rd or 4th day it will all feel much more normal, and you will be amazed by the pace you are able to keep during the day with quick turns.

Thanks man I really appreciate the heads up!

Packs. Probes. Flaps. "Bro check out this schedule!"

In all seriousness, what you said.

18000 pilots in three years.... Come on, that is ridiculous. And even if it were true, most regional pilots are focused on legacy carriers; not the 135, ACMIs etc.... Limited number of slots out of retirements and still far too many pilots wanting them.
