ATP Written Prep Question

Any Sheppard Air alternative suggestions? Their phone has been busy all day and I'm getting a bit worried since I haven't been able to study yet.

I used ASA for ATP airplane and helicopter, got 89 on both. IIRC I got 4 questions on the test that were not in the book.

Also heard King was all right but I am not a big fan of their presentation style.

Interesting new developments in this whole debacle:
http://www.aopa.org/News-and-Video/...le-clarification-offered-before-Aug-1-changes

Here's an excerpt I found interesting:
"After Aug. 1, there will be two new ATP tests: one for airplane multi-engine with the ATP certification training program required prior, and one for airplane single-engine with no ATP certification training program requirement."

This was the first I heard of this. Looks like a loophole that may be useful to some.

Did you mean to say "weren't" on the test, hope so? I also just realized that I might have to relearn the E6-B and I haven't flown in years.

Sheppard Air hands down. Don't look anywhere else.

Folks this stuff has changed in 2014. There is a new reference book dated 4/2014 that you will use. No one that I know of has the current and up to date questions except for Sheppard Air.

You will find 10 extra "CRJ" type questions on the test. Your total questions are now 90. 10 do not count, but you do not know which ones they are.

You risk failing this test if you go somewhere else in 2014. Things have changed.

That's what I meant, thanks.

Sheppard Air has a free memory aid for performance questions: http://www.sheppardair.com/acs/ATPMemoryAid.pdf
So you don't have to use E6B but frankly I find it easier to spend 10 minutes with E6B and solve the flight planning problem than hours memorizing all those questions and answers.

Well this certainly was not the case 9 days ago when I took the test. It was 80 questions and majority of them were not new.

For those looking to do this, you MUST sign up for Sheppard Air by JULY 28TH. Their website says they are not allowing people to purchase the program from the 28th till the 31st.

Also dont forget Sheppard Air Guarantees a 90% or your money back. I got an 88 when I did it and got my money back no questions asked.

The good news is that emailing them worked and I got an account setup.
The bad news is that the test .exe is downloading at 20 Kilobytes /second.

Chin up—at that rate it'll get there in time.

We used to consider 20kB/s to be a pretty darn respectable speed, you know. Double-B channel ISDN professional grade, yo.

What date did you actually take the test? It's 90 questions now.

Joe
July 13th. Definitely 80 questions and no CRJ performance.

I did receive three supplements, the last one was dated April 2014. Wondering if it randomly gives the 90 questions test only to some applicants.

The April 2014 book is the book with the CRJ performance questions. I remember two questions that asked how much fuel could be added on a CRJ departing from a certain airport. There were 5 pages referred to in the book to help figure out the answers.

The reports of 90 questions are coming from the CATS centers and have come over the past couple of weeks. Earlier in the year there were 82 questions.

I took mine on July 7th, had 90 questions. 10 of which were validation questions and all of them including the validation questions were in Sheppard Air's QB.
Guys do yourself a favor and get Sheppard Air and go get it done. @JOEFRIDAY2 is right. The new book "April 2014" had a bunch of questions from that one.
