Wait did someone just suggest that they might be killed by an internet argument? This is fantastic.

spin onHey idiot, it's spelled "brain." Or are just some low-life PFTing scumbag that never went to elementary school? Dumbass.
I guess throwing insults does bring more attention to my side of the argument, and maybe I will win him over by showing my gigantic internetz balls!

There's a difference between being nice, and being civil. Nobody is being nice to you in this thread, but we are all being civil. That's the expectation here, and just like we do at work, we police our own (which is what we're doing now).We disagree, simple as that. I have to get off the office, so I leave you all to continue patting each other on the back about how "nice" you are to each other while Rome burns around you. Have fun.
Everyone wants to know why I'm laughing my ass off.Duug I don't have anything to advertise with a banner ad (I dunno, maybe question to sexual habits of a couple of specific users or something). How much would it cost to be a moderator for three months?
I would pay goode moneys, not to be the nuclear option, but to be the Random Element. A couple of users getting a little inflated on the forum … maybe they'll be visited by Random, or maybe they'll move-on, unscathed. Maybe Random decides that everyone who posted on an odd-numbered page or a thread gets catte avatars. Maybe Random decides some users get access to the super-seekrit Inner Circle subforum.
But it's only mostly random; the odds are better of avoiding Random chance if you keep a low, cordial profile. Not zero, but lower.
This I would pay good money for.

Being civil, and treating others with respect, will bring people to your side of the argument far easier than berating or condescending to them. At the end of the day, if you still feel you're special enough that the rules of professional decorum don't apply to you, just know that you're sorely mistaken.
