XJT AIP

Passed the ASA MEC Unanimously.

Passed the XJT MEC 6-3.

It'll pass, I am sure, by about 15%. Or fail by 5% or less.

Do you guys smell that? That's the smell of growth and prosperity. Cause it's coming to us...oh yeah baby...big jets and big dreams. Upgrades and ice cream for all.

Are you still on the MEC Communication Committee?

Yes, last I checked. However, my skills as a strategic communication specialist have not been of service to the MEC in quite sometime.

Which, is a shame in my book. We have a nice survey regarding our communication practices that we would like to highlight, but focus is on much more important things.

Additionally, all communications related to negotiations have been out-sourced to ALPA National and lawyers who, clearly, know how to communicate to our pilots.

My favorite was the gem saying we would have a contract "by Sunday" a number of MONTHS ago. When no contract materialized, it took three weeks for them to publicly acknowledge that failure in expectation management.

So, yes Seggy, I am. However, I am a line pilot first.

I have no idea, and even if I did...it wouldn't be wise for me to share.

Public will know soon enough. Like the e-mail says, be patient.

ASA'ers... Curious to know how this one compares to your current contract?

Somehow I'm not surprised, and I commend the XJT side for having content already, but our side has yet to release any information. Why? I have no idea...

Speed of disseminating information was always a priority of mine, yet it wasn't necessarily embraced. Be patient, I'm sure the leadership will release information soon.

How does it compare to yours?

Haven't gotten through much of it, but so far its definitely worse than our current contract. There are a few things in there that are better than what we currently have (Moving expenses and DPM,) but some things such as 401k, pay rates, and reserve rules are worse. It's a No vote from me obviously, but I have the next 5 hours to read the whole thing simply because I want to know what's in there.

How did you get a copy of it?
