XJT AIP

I have found the IAD lines to be rather productive, but I'm not sure if that's a function of my relative seniority or if they have actually improved much

This was about 3 years back now. Maybe it could've been the bid preferences as well since I had never mastered it.

Is that part of your contractual language or is it that they haven't heard of this practice yet from the super regional?

RAH CBA: 6.L.1.g. For the purposes of calculating days off, a reserve day will be considered a day of work. Days off will not be moved once awarded.

Yes, there are a select few that are getting hired with no or very little PIC time, however, the majority of guys that I know of that had or have upcoming interviews, are a) very well connected, b) been with Company a long time and several years as PIC, or c) military background.

Right now, seems like a lot of military guys are getting snatched up by several airlines, followed by checkairman, chief pilot background type of people.

When you say military background, do you mean anybody who was in the military at all or just military pilots?

How are your limitations and flows coming along, mang?
What are those? We are in systems day 5 completed. Test is wed. Overwhelming at some points and all the TA stuff in the schoolhouse. Best part hearing flows will change before we get to the line.

Yeah, you picked a tough time to be a) a newbie and b) stuck in the training center. Best as you can, just ignore it. And if you can't try to put a bit of common sense checking on it before you get worried/excited about whatever you hear. Remember, the law requiring an ATP was handed down from Congress, not the FAA so it is unlikely that a company simply whining about having issues filling classes to the feds would allow for as drastic a change of knocking off 85% of the flight time required. Also, as far as hiring plans... who knows. Could be. Could not be. Could start to be and then suddenly not be. Could also not be and then suddenly be.

Anyone see this on APC today?????

What??

XJT has updated their hiring and plans to hire at least 700 pilots in 2014. They've also applied to the FAA for a special exemption that will lower the ATP minimums to 250 hours. It's not public yet, but expect an announcement for a "huge" 90-seat RJ order in the very near future.

Good Luck!

I'm not believing, actually thinking its funny. I like the CRM girl pushing 170's before EFB. I'm waiting to see how long it takes for a JC'r to hear about me without being at the schoolhouse. 8) I'm a trouble marker. Just ask my class.

We know you are pulling our leg man but... "First rule of airline life: you are just a number. Don't make yourself more than that."

Yeah. The biggest badass in our class got fired before systems class. He almost got our entire class sent to the street on his way out though.
