Will go anywhere.

A wise first officer who lurks these very forums once warned me over lunch at an Asian Buffet:

"There are two kinds of women pilots. Those who fly because they love it and thats what they've always wanted to do, just like us. Then there are those who do it to prove something to all the men in the world. Steer clear of the second kind."

I love flying. :)

I'd steer clear of people with something to prove in general... of either gender.

Funny, how this world ticks.
Interviewed three females for CFI jobs.
All around the 250-300 hour range.

1 x I got told how & where the interview would take place...
1 x I received the straight clue that instructing was second choice...
1 x there was a picture on the coverletter.... (?) 0 Dual Given.

There are some ladies in this industry who ride on pretty darn high horses. Higher, way higher, than their male counterparts. Thats ok, though.
The really good female teachers and pilots are extremely hard to get.
They know who they are, don't get offended easily are just as honest as steel and do not ride through life in a very arrogant way.

Nothing beats the Portugese guy, that send me his "resume" after I had asked him repeatedly to stop calling me at 11PM to have a phone interview... :D

"XXXXX - I am best CFI you ever had, great pilot, no hours, but good att. Reg. Axxxxxxxx" and then some...

I wonder if he's still waiting for his call?

Everybody has something to prove. Everybody. Its just what effect that the desire to prove themselves has on their professionalism that's the important part. If it makes them better, more professional aviators with "iceman" like skills, then that's a good thing. If it makes them dodgy, edgy, easily irascible and pompous, then not so good.

I'd have to second ppragman here. Us guys have it pretty good, all our traditional occupations are generally speaking the cooler ones -- I'm sure there may be a man out there trying his hardest to prove his genders worth and break through the midwifery glass ceiling but that type of situation is probably the exception.

Like he said, everyone has SOMETHING to prove. It's just varying how much of a priority it is for that person.

I used to be a "Anti King" person. Really!
Martha is a cool cat and John was a nice a fun guy to be around when I met them. There is a big difference between your public and your personal face.
