Regarding the security clearance... Someone on SM determined it's been taking people 4-6 weeks to get conditionally cleared, and 2-12 months (the 12 seems way high) to get fully cleared.
 
Thanks. I went to the Chicago PEPC 6/24.

EDIT: Also, from the way the call went, I'm pretty sure that if you haven't heard anything, you're medically cleared. When I called, the lady asked for my name. Then, without typing anything, she said, "You were supposed to send in some additional info, weren't you?" I said no. Then she switched phones so that she could look me up. That's when she told me that I was cleared.

To sum all that up, if you call before the 15th, they will probably assume you failed and have been instructed to call them.
 
Can someone PM me the number to call Chicago about the Medical....I have lost that half sheet of paper that had the numbers on it. Thanks guys!

Just called my HR Rep E.M. Wow, she is a nice lady! A stark difference from my other interactions with the FAA. She said non of my stuff is in at this time.....she said they are waiting until Aug 15th for medical to come in. She stated that she would be calling around early september with a class date....and for those of you that don't have anything back yet, this is what she said: (and yes, i know this is an old adage that rings true) She said: "If you haven't received any mail or a phone call, you have probably passed everything, it just takes them a while to process the paperwork". That kinda made me feel a bit better. Well lets all hope for an early FY10 class date, and hopefully we'll know in early September as E.M. suggested.

Whoa, early September for PUBNAT6?! I got a message from her saying they wouldn't even know metering numbers for the facilities until near the end of this month, and that's even for us PUBNAT4 folks. Here's hoping she's in-the-know and calls us sooner! ;)

Yeah I've been told late august would be the first we hear anything. It'd be nice to hear something sooner but I have a feeling that this whole contract thing has come into play here...
 
Well, I just got off the phone with E.M. I have a class date of freaking August 18th. I didn't really believe them when they told me at the PEPC that I'd be in OKC by the end of August.

So I am now freaking out about getting to OKC in 6 days from Utah. Yikes. She said I'd have my FOL by tomorrow morning, and that I could go the MMAC on Monday to get my welcome packet. Swinte, could you PM me your phone number? You're the only person I even halfway know down there, so if I could have someone to talk to, I'd appreciate it. Good luck all!

And what PUBNAT is this class date from? Just curious since you have quite a few in your signature.

I'm going to guess but maybe PUBNAT5/6 since his PEPC was in Chicago on 6/24.

But congrats! Although 6 days is a very short notice. I'm glad all the waiting is over for you now. Good luck to you :beer:

You're in a different boat than the rest of us. They told us at the PEPC that certain places have staffing levels mandated by Congress, and so those selected for Alaska or Lake Charles, LA would be fast-tracked to OKC.

Yeah, I was told that too. My HR rep had told me a few weeks ago that I would be waiting till FY 2010, which is why this came as a surprise.
 
congrats jcpilot! wow august 18th, that got me a little excited. I just back from completing my medical and it was the last thing i had to do in my traditional way of doing things. I can't wait to hear about a class date and get my FOL. Has anyone started thinking about housing in OKC yet?

Any single parents here? If so, what are you planning on doing with your children? The daycare at the facility? I don't remember the hours from when I looked it up, but what about when we have night classes?

Anyone else in this same boat?

I know, I know, I'll go read the housing forums.
