Pubnat 5/6

I will be staying by myself. I don't want to leave the wife and kids at home, but coming home once a week will help.

I just pissed off a bunch of folks over at SM, so I'll be hangin over here for a while.

I'll either be by myself or possibly rooming with another OKC bound classmate. My wife will probably visit once or twice when she can since she works too.

You know someone's going to ask so what did you do over at SM? :D

I don't think you needed to apologize, man. I couldn't agree more.

Someone was asking about getting a DUI while in training at OKC. I responded with my first thoughts and continued in the tread.....look for DFWLVR...thats me over there, they all attacked me. HAHA! I guess the whole belief of don't drink and drive doesn't fly with those "pricks". http://www.stuckmic.com/faa-academy/6997-dui-during-academy-probation-2.html

after reading that whole thread utamav, i think you had far more support from them than you give yourself credit, certainly more support than criticism. and you are absolutely right.

I guess it just was one or two that slammed me hard. It's easy to do over the internet, instead of in front of 6'1 245lbs. I still think I was right, probably slightly oversarcastic, and over-appologetic. I hope none of those DUI supporters make it through, I know that's mean but, do you want to work with a group like that? I'll limit my intake to the boards:beer:

OK, I'm going to say it, jus because it isn't going to hurt....Maybe some of us will get emails today!:D:D:D

ultamav - I wouldn't sweat it. the law is the law. someone on SM stated that we are all on probation and we could be let go for much less - he is absolutely correct.

does anyone have the fax# we are supposed to send the onboarding docs to (SF 144 & SF 15)? I'm sure it's on here - but I am lazy
thanks

Why would I sweat, I don't have the DUI. Heck, I haven't had a drink in over 7 years. The closest I ever got to drinking and driving was when I was a missionary for my church.....I was riding my bike on the side of a F.M. Road and some guys in a truck threw beer all over me and my shirt and tie. I smelled like beer the entire day. As for what happened over on SM, It was just hillarious that people ACTUALLY got mad at me for making sarcastic light of their flippant attitude towards dangerous and reckless behavior. They were talking about it as if someone burned a cheeseburger on the grill. I think those who have had a DUI should have a chance to get the job, IF they have the right attitude and some time has passed, but to ask what would happen IF you got a DUI while at MMAC? Does that even have to be a question. It's all good on my side....I'm just waiting for my FOL and a sweet ride to OKC! And, tons of people over on SM gave me tons of rep points for sticking up for "what's right". Thanks for the support dude!

But, still I could have been a bit less sarcastic.

My wife is going to be staying with her parents while I go to OKC. With us going to Alaska and all, she wants to get in as much time with her family as possible. Since she's pregnant as well, she wants to stay close to her OB. So all I'll have to keep me company is my laptop, X-Box and Wii.........

A couple of 5/6 people on SM got class dates today. One Oct. 26, one Sept. 10.

One received a call about his class date, and one called to ask an unrelated question and they offered him a class date. I'm calling Monday.

Do you know what facility they were headed?

I hope that I get a class date soon. I have heard that Dallas TRACON is in need of staff. I tried calling Aviation Careers today, asked about my clearnaces, then realized the secretary was connecting me to my HR rep. Did I do something wrong? Should I ask something else next time? Or do you think my HR rep will no with Aviation Careers knows? Any thoughts? I need to know as soon as possible....I am a Supervisor in an ICU...I can't exactly pack my bags and leave in a week and a half. I just hope they come soon, and they give me at least two weeks notice. Anyone have any thoughts on what I can do?
