It's all about the tray table.
And the base... apparently.
With all the Corona talk, I figured I'd necropost.
I've flown a few hundred hours on the bus now, and while it's a pretty easy life, I just haven't been able to get into it. Sure the tray table is nice, but the plane's silliness has me appreciating 175; even the 727 FE panel made more sense than the Airbus.
But last week...
I’ve been upfront on a 737's so many times, but this was my first as a legit Airbus driver. I was grateful for the ride, but what a colossal piece the 737 is. Those guys must have touched the temperature switches 15 times before top of climb. And the windows are so small, and without built in sunshades! Bleed, and electric switches operated manually? And the pressurization panel is basically from the 72. Watching those guys using a yoke – what a waste of space. And those thrust levers just looked awkward moving themselves.
It hit me, I’m happy to be an Airbus person. It really is a good life. I guess, I have indeed, learned to love the bus.
Oh god. I’m about to be displaced off the Bus to the 737.
Unless the Coronavirus has put their plans on hold.....
I'm a fan boy, no doubt. I wish the bus had a vert profile like the 170, as well as an integrated radio, like the 170. However, for an '80's designed and produced bird, she does well.yadda yadda..... I guess, I have indeed, learned to love the bus.
Hmmm... all that sounds like pilot stuff to me. But I'm almost as old as the 737, so WTF do I know? With all the Corona talk, I figured I'd necropost.

What base?
Currently LAX on the 75/767.
Once the bids close, supposedly anything west coast is possible, either LAX/SFO.
I've always heard your 737 trips beat the pants off the Airbus trips.
Plus the Airbus sucks.
If I was a west coaster, I’d do whatever fleet took
me out to Hawaii for overnights. I’ve never been, but I assume it beats MAF overnights.
CLTThats gonna be once displaced to the Bowing. You’re AA, DFW base?
You mean you do not like hanging out in oil town for hours and hours? I've had the overnight once out of DFW and I agree, Hawaii would be better. If I was a west coaster, I’d do whatever fleet took
