Ok, I'll eat the crow I deserve, or how I learned to love the Bus.

Airbus rocks. Fly GA If you want to fly. I want to be comfy at work.

The only thing I found superior in the NG was the VSD. Sick of trying to distinguish between those stupid little blue and white arrows. Sure there is a better way.

It's totally official, I finished OE toady with the FAA observation, The designee seemed to think I wasn't a hazard to airborne navigation, so I'm a line qualified 737 Captain. For at least 24 months, then it's probably back to the bus, as long as the seniority is around the same.

It is small, loud and pretty uncomfortable after a couple of hours, but I'll concede that the 73 handles really nice. I should get some MAX exposure before very long.

Congrats. Probably going to be my next stop when the 190 goes bye bye. Well as long as I can hold captain.

Enjoy LGA!

Thanks! I was LGA based on the 80 before. The flying and the crews are great. As long as I can avoid EWR as much as possible, its a royal PITA to get there and back from LGA/JFK. I keep hearing rumors of a 73 base in PHL, that might not be a bad deal. My wife has been looking at houses in PA, if I can't get based in MIA in a reasonable amount of time. DFW is probably years away as a captain, and years after that to hold a line, so it's probably time to pull chocks and say good bye to Texas.

nimslow, how long have you been at AA?

Cherokee,

I'm a "numbered flow through" so it's a little more complicated than just when I got here. My original seniority date was Jan 2001, the date that was used in the SLI was May 2008, and I flowed over in 2011.

There are many of us that were part of the original flow that are captains now, some of the first 120 are holding captain in DFW and ORD. Most of the rest of the first group are 777/787 fo's now. I still can't hold 787 fo, and I'd be commuting to reserve as a 777 fo. I figured if I was going to commute to reserve, I might as well fly with my favorite captain every trip.

I'm sure I'll have stuff thrown my way for this but I love flying the 73. Sure it's a little cramped getting in but when you're in the seat it's fine (I'm 6'4"). On trans cons I just take a break or 2 to stretch, plus it's just plain bad for your health to sit that long in the first place. It flies great and in my opinion has the best domestic rotations at my shop.

I know @Snickersnwa would agree with me

That poor guy called me crying after his first trip on the 737. All he could talk about was how amazing the bus is.
