Oh Alaska/Boeing

Same design as the Airbus. It's a certification thing.

The FCOM for the Airbus and the FH for the 737 make no mention of it. Seems pretty crazy that all somebody has to do is depressurize an aircraft to get the entire cockpit security door to open. NTSB said that Boeing is going to update the manual to reflect this.

I am also not aware of it being a design certification but I believe you.

It weirds-me-out how accurately AI can render specifically a 737.

@SteveC

Your assertion is incorrect, that they are correct “sometimes.” Dramatic much? And that you have to search other sources to make sure it’s real? No, you don’t - rarely is it incorrect. It’s the other way around, correct most of the times, once in a while, they get something wrong.
A questionable source exhibits one or more of the following: extreme bias, consistent promotion of propaganda/conspiracies, poor or no sourcing of credible information, a complete lack of transparency, and/or is fake news.
…. Sources listed in the Questionable Category may be very untrustworthy and should be fact-checked on a per-article basis

If Boeing goes under who's going to support the existing fleet? Who is going to provide any competition to Airbus? Boeing has major issues that need to be addressed ASAP but I think airline pilots rooting for their demise is akin to cutting off ones nose to spite their face. How many members here fly 737s? You might have complaints about it but you might be sitting behind a desk rather than a yoke if your seat didn't exist. I get it. Pilots have to complain about how difficult their job is to justify their arrogance. I've never met a group of people that get paid to sit on their ass that complain as loudly about their working conditions, don't confuse that with thinking I don't appreciate the time, money and dedication it takes to get to a Boeing and the heavy toll it takes on a persons life once they get there. Why crap on the folks that build the airplane that allows you to make more money than the majority of your fellow citizens and honestly more than the majority of people living on this planet with more time off and sweet benefits?

Yeah, Boeing is a blue chip with 135B market cap, and is highly involved in the mil-industrial complex. They can push all the 737s into Lake Washington and not care. I’m personally betting on some kind of renaissance on the civil aviation side, but…it’s gonna be awhile.
