Re: **Official "Not Until Next Fiscal Year (Oct. 2010)" Thre
I'd say you're paranoid.
However, I do sometimes wonder if I'll ever get through. Sure, I've only been waiting for a class date with clearances done for 7 months, but it's also put everything on hold. We moved about 1/3 of our stuff to my wife's parents' house two months ago, including our couch and dining room furniture, leaving our apartment somewhat bare; I was denied a promotion and chance to work on a big project at work because I am no longer considered a "long term" employee; and we can't make any big decisions until I get a class date, which we were originally told would be in late June.
We're set and in line for the position, and there's no one in later PUBNATs that can just float in front of us because of our TOL and time of clearances. TOL is the ultimate decider on your position in line, but if someone from the same PUBNAT that's a spot behind you had their medical clearance come back before you, they get to bump in front of you -- at least until both his and your clearances expire.
Here's the exact cut and paste (with names changed to protect the innocent) from EM's assistant. I sent her assistant an e-mail because I hadn't heard back from EM herself when asking the same question. As a reference, I sent EM the initial e-mail November 9th. I'm starting to think this is a form response sent to us, primarily because of the difference in font.
Thanks for your thoughts. Did EM give you any reassurance that your TOL will never expire? She did tell me that no one can cut in front of me and that my TOL never expires, but it makes you wonder how long they keep your file sitting in a folder until finally they just bring someone fresh from the next PUBNAT along instead b/c your paperwork is so old. Am I just paranoid? :insane:

We have received both of your clearances and as soon as we have a class date for you we will contact you. I don't actually do the scheduling for classes. EM is your HR specialist that will be scheduling you for a class start date. This could take some time. When we get results back from security and medical then you go on a list in order of when you received your tentative offer letter and when your clearances were completed. Your class date also depends on facility needs and avaibility at the Academy. Please be patient with this process.
