Mid-Air Collision near LGB

When you have a population over 30 million and most of the people are located in the southern portion of Cally, you kind of already know.

girls in bikinis, what do you expect:)

Personally, I would like the rookies to be banished to a location where they do not threaten me and my innocent paying passengers. And I don't care if it takes legislation OR user fees to banish them.

I'm just sick of dodging them EVERY SINGLE DAY I go to places like SNA, LGB, SJC, OAK and PSP to name just a few places. I'm not saying GA doesn't have its place. Its place is just FAR, FAR away from commercial aviation.

No. Its because there are so many GA pilots with their heads up and locked sightseeing along the beach. But because they didn't take down an airliner THIS TIME no one will give a plugged pfennig, wise guy.

:yeahthat: (Aww crap...)

Whose idea was it to put a VFR corridor along the coastline in front of where SNA and LAX are taking off?

I'm sick and tired of waiting for airlines takeoff first even though I'm first and line. Also I'm tired of doing 360's waiting for you to land.

I have been in and out of SNA and SJC 20-30 times and never have gotten a RA.

Now what are we trying to discuss here? 'Commercial aviation' that includes 135 charter and Corporate GA too?

Based on what happened the other day, in a situation that I was involved in, 121 should stay FAR, FAR, away from general aviation. When two planes get close its not always GA's fault like you play it out to be.

Go somewhere else.

I guess I fly there a lot more than you do or you don't come from the northwest over Merma and SXC. 'Cause if you did, you would have gotten plenty.

Dodging, eh? When was your last RA?

Again, plenty of them. The best one was when we went canopy to canopy with a V tailed doctor killer who was stooging around in and out of broken clouds without contacting SNA tower.

Disingenuous. But, I'd exempt those operators. Lets just say, "amateurs go elsewhere."

Then you agree. Keep GA away from commercial operators and make the skies safer.

Like I said, there are also plenty of 'amateurs' in 121 cockpits, that are more apt to kill themselves, and there are also lots of 'professionals' in light GA cockpits that do a damn good job.

Now how to regulate the 'amateurs' out of the air is the tricky part. User fees won't fix stupid. I'm sure we both would love to share the sky with safe, competent, 'professionals', and not have to deal with 'amateurs' that do stupid crap. Thing is, people here on the forums are here for education, and sharing knowledge. The ones here and that go to NJC roundtables and talk about how to fly 'professionally' although not being compensated, aren't the ones being stupid in airplanes. 99% of the instructors and FLAPs as you call them here on JC fall into the 'professional' group, that I'm sure are just as safe to share the skies with as a fellow 121 crew.

Keeping GA away from the airlines, and keeping the airlines away from GA, are two different things. But, you know that, as you say "words mean things"

Someone is a little cranky today. Most of the GA is not in radio contact, GA airplanes don't have TCAS, and three GA is what made aviation today. Everything goes back to the Wright brothers, not commercial.

The amount of stupid bickering on this site really amazes me. The fact that I have to share the sky with some of these egos is quite alarming.

Velo, please please stay a long way from socal, because people like me might be out flying when you come.

You obviously don't own an aircraft do you? Otherwise the user fee statement would have been avoided high and dry. By the way, how did you get to where you are? Did you rent an RJ for your private? Or did you go GA? Gotta start somewhere.

Rookies banished, eh? Like a leper colony, right? LOL We CFI's and students here in SoCal have just as much right to learn to fly as someone in middle of no where Oklahoma. It's great experience here! You should have received plenty of training on collision avoidance. You also have top notch TCAS in your A/C, am I correct? And works about 100% of the time? I think the truth is being stretched a bit here because otherwise I would be dodging commercial traffic just as much as you claim to be dodging all the GA in SoCal. You are a guest in SoCal airspace when you fly here so don't talk to us like it's your airspace and we should lay out a red carpet upon your arrival. Don't forget where you started and why you are where you are today.

And just incase you forgot, there are people inside those pesky GA airplanes you have to dodge EVERY SINGLE DAY. How about a little more respect, especialy after what has just happened.

Telling GA pilots to go away, is like wearing a t-shirt that says I love Sherman, then walk from Atlanta all the way to Savannah.
