Life at Compass

we seem to be the exact opposite....i'd prefer 90% math questions. I'll PM you after my interview....but the way i understand it is that there is a giant mqf and every test is different...so my test could have 5 math questions on it and yours could have 10.

This was my experience. My Cog test had almost no math questions and I know others who said they had a lot.

What @RORO said. Mine I had 5 on it. Be sure to answer pretty quickly or it will move on to the next question. Learned that from the first one. All in all, if you put in some descent time studying, it won't seem to bad. The cog test was possibly the most stressful. The knowledge test wasn't bad at all, but it all depends on your own experience and knowledge.

the cog test is the same test layout everytime . I took it with XJT and Compass, the only section with math is the mental math, all the games are the same each time

yeah i was referring to the job knowledge test, not the cog test....something got lost in translation.

oops! meant JKT too! Damn you beer!

Well, as for the math type questions on the knowledge test, I had 3 at most. I'm actually leaning more towards 2, and they were not bad at all. If you are familiar with all the types of problems, regardless of the numbers in the problem, they are easy to calculate. I finished my knowledge test with 30+ minutes to go, so I had ample time to go through my test to recheck my answers. You should have plenty of time to spend on the math problems to make sure you answered as correctly as possible.

400 is essentially the entire pilot group currently, isn't it?
I would say that it covers all remaining flows, enough for the new planes and a few for good measure to cover attrition.

I believe the airline is currently around 500 pilots, but we should be getting an updated seniority list here very soon.

It was around 535 if you go off flica. There are 80+ on the list who have flow letters for this year who are still on the list.

My guess is by next dec we will need at least 700 and prob closer to 750 for the additional flying.

(Assuming between 11.5-12 pilots per plane.)

Just got an email from HR - running another class early August, and plans to hire 400 over the next year to staff for flows and additional flying.
is there currently a pool? interviewing next week and would love to get an early aug class.

I highly doubt there will be a pool much longer. I bet the full plan will be out soon and classes will be offered like hot cakes.

And the fun part is, if you look at the numbers, unless we put 35 (and more like 40-45) a month in class almost immediately, come next summer, we will be understaffed by 80-100

Easy feller, I am sure the plan will be more than we have ever seen hired here. Fingers crossed but I have a feeling they know how many need to be hired.

I was put in the pool on my interview day in late May. Still no word on a class date - but I hope I'm close to getting called.
Swimming in the pool? If you wanna talk to me about swimming in the pool you should talk to @ClarkGriswold about my experience swimming in the pool.

You interview one day after someone else and yet your DOH is 1.5 years apart...

In all seriousness though, congrats and I know you'll be sitting in orientation learning how not to sexually harass people while trying to create an email password and eating Jimmy John's at the same time, before you know it.
