Are you still actively flying? What did the hiring pilots tell you regarding R-ATP?They have been actively interviewing candidates who are even shy of R-ATP mins, and those who have been offered a position have been going into a "pool" to await class dates once they hopefully come to terms with the Union on allowing R-ATP min new hires into training
Ok, thank you.yes, I'm a full time flight instructor working towards the mins, what they told me was that they hope to have the situation resolved soon and start putting people in class in the fall. But that obviously there is no guarantee on the time frame.
Go where you want to go. If you can wait to the fall go to compass. If you need to be in an airline now, got to XJT.I hope it works out, I have an offer with XJT, but Compass seems like a much more stable option.

They are interviewing and placing them into a pool until they meet the contractual requirements. This makes no sense at all, but then again this industry makes no sense at all... Guys that are ATP's, typed and current in the only airplane they operate can't even get a phone call and they are interviewing and hiring CFI's that don't yet meet APT min's... Strange times indeed...
It is strange, but everyone I've talked too has gotten a chance of at least going down to interview, application isn't missing a checked box somewhere? This makes no sense at all, but then again this industry makes no sense at all... I know. Man I was way off!He must have thought that lately.
the future at Compass is looking brighter than XJT.
well with United losing $600M, and XJT reducing hiring and fleet size, I don't know what else to think.I know someone who was saying the exact same thing back in 2008.
Funny how it hasn't really changed much since then.
I would suggest at least interviewing and getting that class date so you have something to decide on. Also, so you can get an "early" class before the big wave of hiring for the new aircraft. I'm also making that transition from XJT to CPZ, but it was an easy decision for me for QoL reasons and since I don't have as much time as you invested at XJT.I've been at XJT for 3 yrs - will be in my 4th year starting tomorrow. I targeted Compass on AirlineApps last night and this morning at 8:20 a.m. I had an e-mail saying to give them a call to schedule an interview. Was very surprised to get a response that quick. I have about 3000 TT, 2200 121.
I wasn't planning to go to another regional to chase an upgrade, but with all additional airplanes it sounds like there will be substantial movement coming up. I know it's risky to chase an upgrade but it might be worth it? I don't believe I'll see an upgrade at XJT for a long time. We're losing 108 airplanes in the next 12 months and I have about 450 on top of me. We aren't bidding on new flying until we have a new contract which will most likely take quite some time.
Not sure what to do.
