Life at Compass

Crazy to think that if I'd gone to lax earlier for a line instead of sitting sea reserve for awhile, I would have had the time to get into a class and avoid this whole scenario. Oh well.... hindsight is 20/20.
On the plus side, at least I won't be yet another stupid 1000 121 hr wonder when I upgrade and maybe I'll see more interesting scenarios play out from the easier seat. So in a lot of ways it's actually a positive because now I'll be more prepared and ready. Just gotta try and view it that way...

This was basically lack of gate space related. Add in some wx and east ops and it was comical. Delta would check in with ops on the ground and they'd be briskly told 90 minutes to 2 hours for a gate. Silence and then somebody would lose it. We went over the elusive (and unlawful) 3 hour mark (3:09 to be exact) before we got to gate. I've never been yelled at so much by ops, ramp and multiple ground controllers. Pax were surprisingly fairly pleasant considering the events.

Uh oh, thats some insane fine per pax. In CELL class the CP said to blow the slides and get everybody off at 2:45.. they are far cheaper than the fine. And he said it with a straight face.

I remember when he told us that, I was like damn.... looks like we're getting a fine then?

You weren't the only one. I imagine Delta will be footing the bill for the flights that went over the 3 hour mark. With that said, its all kind of B.S. with all the bomb threats and weather happening at the same time...
