Life at Compass

My first...and only...FAI overnight had a FED occupying the jumpseat going up and back to SEA the next night. Was fantastic. Twiddled our thumbs for 4 hours, all while trying to remember what information I'm suppose to give the controllers in a non radar environment. Thank God for good FO's.

Also had a fed to and from FAI as a brand new CA. He was nice but still 8 hours of FAA makes for a long night/morning.

Fairbanks overnights are a red eye coming back, which is a large part about why they go so junior. Very late departure, 24 hour "overnight," then a red eye back to Seattle. If it's a 3 day, then it'll only pay 12 hours, and the credit for the PBS build is 8.

It's a pretty terrible trip.

It definitely sucks, but at the same time, the TAFB is only about 33 hrs. 12 hrs of pay for 33 hrs away from base isn't that terrible... but then again I can bid nice 2 days that pay that and won't screw up my sleep schedule, so I don't go there. Also there is the "opportunity cost" of it eating up 3 days of schedule thus taking out nicer pairings.

Thanks for the info. I would be coming over from another regional where qol is non existent, so 12 to 14 days off sounds amazing. I would be more than ok with fairbanks overnights.

Can't believe nobody brought this up, buttttt can I get your recruitment bonus?

I heard this story from the FO. He was so proud.

Had the login issue today. Did an online chat with Delta it and they reset my password. Resetting on my own didn't work.
