Life at Compass

Careful I remember there was once another interview program built off a connecion but then it fell through. Now everyone think's they're owed a flow instead.
No expectations at all. I was simply replying to @ian about how or what SW would gain with some sort of SSP or alike with CP and the actual reason for such a rumor. You know me, I'm not going anywhere.

What kind of schedules are people getting in Seattle? is it even possible to get out of training? And how long are people on reserve?

Junior line holders got a lot of 4 and 5 day trips with 12-14 off, expect multiple FAI overnights during winter. Junior pilot in SEA was hired in Jul. so maybe a month in LAX, junior line holders are Feb./Mar. hires.

Thanks for the info. I would be coming over from another regional where qol is non existent, so 12 to 14 days off sounds amazing. I would be more than ok with fairbanks overnights.

Fairbanks overnights are a red eye coming back, which is a large part about why they go so junior. Very late departure, 24 hour "overnight," then a red eye back to Seattle. If it's a 3 day, then it'll only pay 12 hours, and the credit for the PBS build is 8.

It's a pretty terrible trip.

My first...and only...FAI overnight had a FED occupying the jumpseat going up and back to SEA the next night. Was fantastic. Twiddled our thumbs for 4 hours, all while trying to remember what information I'm suppose to give the controllers in a non radar environment. Thank God for good FO's.

With other regionals offering flows and guaranteed interviews, etc... why should someone consider Compass?
(Serious question.. I like a lot about them. But people coming in the door must realize there isn't as much bring offered there as other places.)

You''re right...We might be coming into a time where we have a really hard time keeping up. Right now what we have going for us are quick upgrades, and OKish pay. Maybe our bases is you live on the west coast. That's really it as far as getting new hires. It's a good airline and I am happy I came here, and I would bet you would be happy here as well, but that doesn't sell the newbs.

We are going to have to do something. I think only thing "easily" done is bumping up pay again. Short of that, flow is out, interview programs are sorta/maybe out, and quick upgrades are one fuel crisis away from coming to an end. So yeah, I really don't know what we can do.

I seem to be the only one who enjoyed FAI overnights. Yeah, it wasn't an efficient use of time with respect to pay, but it was a fun-ish place to go when it wasn't the dead of winter.
