Life at Compass

I had 40 when I applied last month. Starting class soon.

Thanks @francis03, @Old Dominion Flyer, and @BarbieDreamPilot.

Most important factor for me is the ability to be SEA-based not too long after training. Followed by upgrade time.

Given that, any thoughts on Compass vs. SkyWest? The latest I could find in this thread (August) said that there were no vacancies at SEA. Curious if that situation has changed much and how dynamic it is.

On the upgrade time front, what I gathered is that getting the E175 at SkyWest may make it more likely to be SEA based, but upgrade times may be longer (~4 years?) compared to CRJ; and Compass upgrade times as low as 1 yr? Huge difference that could certainly make spending extra $ on multi time now (to be a more competitive as a Compass applicant) worth it.

They would probably hire if you had a good head on your shoulders and 25 ME. They're needing pilots like every other regional. The assistant chief pilot said there were likely vacancies in LA and SEA for the coming months and chances were good we'd get our first picks right out of training. That wasn't a marketing ploy - we already signed the dotted line.

The marketing ploy never stops.

We should be hearing about that Delta flow program any day now!!!!

Crickets from the CP office.
I get what you're saying but the flow is never coming back or rumored to come back. And if you're talking about the guaranteed interview that's completely out of the CPs control, especially the one's in place now since they have 0 connection like the old ones did and even for those it wasn't gonna happen, and trust me they tried.

Yeah, I meant guaranteed interview. Then maybe stop pulling out the shiny brochure showing the guaranteed interview that they used on hundreds of pilots. Quite a shady deal they pulled.

There's more to the story than them trying to be shady. It wasn't intentional and up until last year when it was stopped being advertised, everyone thought it was still on, including the CPs. You can PM me if you want more info.

Good info in the SOTA. I'm curious how the C9 construction will affect our operations at LAX. "Gate is occupied"
