Life at Compass

He has a starring role in this months newsletter

Last week when no wheelchair people were available, I found one and brought it down.

Yesterday when no meet and assist people were available, I walked a blind man from the plane to the counter. My only reward, "Hey you're the guy from the speaker...are you the copilot".

Damn.

If the STL story is the case (I've heard of other occurrences as well), then he really is throwing people under the bus and setting them up for it to. "Oh buddy would you go grab this dollar out of the road? Oh whoops forgot to tell you about the bus coming to run you over!"
If you think someone's drinking is a problem talk to them and tell them to call in sick. After a beer, or even a few someone would still be coherent enough to understand that. If that doesn't work go to the Union for them.

Setting up another crew member and "friend" is a sign of poor character. There's many better avenues to handle this if he truly thought it were a safety issue. Entrapment isn't the appropriate course of action.

*disclaimer* I am not a proponent of breaking company policy, but I would never set someone up for it and throw them under the bus. I trust my fellow employees and they should trust me too; if there's a problem I will start with talking to them.

I guess the truly good deeds will go unrecognized.
Wish more people offered this kind of customer care, and care for others in general

This Isaac sounds like the kind of person who won't fit in at an actual airline. Best of luck to you trying to get a job outside the regionals right now- it's the smallest industry imaginable. All it takes is a few people to be on the lookout and you'll be stuck for quite a while. No one wants a management tattle tale on their team if you catch my drift.

Man whats up with APC and all the stuck up retards trying to be all professional on that thread regarding the RAT?

You mean the thread that's proving Compass is now a pilot group of unprofessional 22 year old bro's?

I agree, we need some mentoring about what appropriate behavior involves when it comes to alcohol.

It's an airline, not a frat party.

Me. "Oh someone ratted someone out for having a beer right at the 12 hour limit? What a tool. Let's move on"

APC: "Oh, someone ratted someone out for having a beer right at the 12 hour limit? Lets talk about it for another three pages and act like tools ourselves in the process."

I know commuting is not recommended. However, if it is the only choice, are LAX lines commutable from DFW or ATL?
There are plenty of late shows, some even with early finishes. Getting both is going to depend on your seniority. May be tough when junior, but we have commuter hotels if you have to come in the day before or leave a day after.

is Seattle still pretty junior? For FOs and CAs?
Upgrades still occurring pretty quick? How long on reserve (for both CA and FO)?

Other than the aforementioned tool, is the pilot and FA group pretty nice? Fun overnights? Slam-clickers?

My last month as an FO I was bidding around 47%. With that I was using about 3 commuter rooms a month. Everything else was commutable. Now as far as your commute from DFW, I don't know. I do know we do several a day on the delta side, so there are two more jumpseats in the cabin you have access to. However I do know there are a lot of commuters from DFW, and any kind of hub to hub commute is GENERALLY pretty crowded. I do think those extra FA jumpseats should help a ton, however. Couldn't tell you about ATL, I'm afriad.

I've had pretty good luck with crews since I've been here. I've had a fair share of slam-clickers, but they don't seem to be the norm. The work group at compass is a LOT younger than at some of the other places, so it seems like there are a lot more people willing to go out and have a good time on an overnight. I've had some good crew outings since I've been here.
