Life at Compass

One time on my SMF layover, the FO lived there and owned a C152. Took all of us up for a coule patterns each. The flight attendants had a blast on their turns. Too much stuff to do than sit in a hotel room.

Sometimes sitting in a hotel room is perfect and all you can do. Nothing wrong with that, nor is there anytihng wrong with going out with the crew. I don't know why it is, but it seems like Compass threads have trivial discussions than any other thread for other regionals. I guess that's a good thing...implying that there really isn't too much else for us to bitch about. It's interesting.

I agree dude. There's very little drama in Compass threads but if you stumble in Envoy, gojet or PSA threads, it's all mindless drivel!

I agree, I most of it has to do with when things are good, drama is low. Lose a third of your pilot group, take pay cuts, multiple contracts and worry about your future, people get a little testy. I'd say things have been pretty happy at compass the last couple years, which is nice.
 
anyone know if you are pay protected for Trips Dropped because they touched Captain Upgrade? Can I expect to be paid for the credit lost + training pay, or just the training pay + the one trip I'll actually fly that month. I browsed through the CBA but couldn't really find a solid answers. Thanks!
 
I agree with the Giant. For the month of my upgrade I bid for max credit and min days off. I was paid for all the dropped trips as well as training pay. The days off awarded didn't matter because I'd be off whatever days were awarded to me by training.

At least that's how I remember it.
 
This is random I know,but why don't we have a "Compass" branded spare that can operate between both systems? Is it because of the 2 class configuration of the AA/DL planes? It seems like every regional has a company branded plane that can be used as a systemwide spare ,but then again they seem to all be CRJ-200s and 145s.

Configuration could be one reason. The bigger reason is because the AE planes are owned by American and DL planes owned by Delta. Compass would actually have to own a plane for it to be neutrally branded.

What we DO have are Compass branded sunglasses, soon be distributed in every airplane in an effort to mitigate fatigue calls due to 3am email alerts for a lost pair of fake raybans.

...and a new MEL procedure for operating while company issued glasses are missing.

Sunglasses and hand sanitizer seemed to be the big giveaways at OSH this year from the Career hangar
